Anthony is in Mexico City, up to his ears in delicious beans, jalapeños, and all the stew one could want. He begins at a food cart run by the incredible Dona Anastasia. Dona hand crafts fresh blue corn tortillas, or what Anthony describes as the “best tortillas ever.” Then, he samples an array of tacos— “wet tacos” filled with guts, tongue, eyeballs, and al pastor. The next day, Anthony joins friends Martin and Carlos for an early morning breakfast at Fonda Margarita. The trio indulge in heaping plates of chicharrón, huevos rancheros, meaty stews, and steaming hot beans.

was just there. Food was good. The price has more than doubled but I felt it was worth it. Got to sit with a local family I met in line. One of the customers at another table broke out into a song during his meal. I've had better breakfasts in other places in CDMX but none more memorable.
