  1. My grandmother cooked that way! Mom would try to write down her recipes as she cooked. She'd ask how much do you put in and grandma would hold out her hand with the ingredient and say, "about that much".

  2. This was every real Jamaican’s face when she broke open the scotch bonnet pepper and threw it into the rice & peas at 1:42—> 😳

  3. I used to work for Ms. Carena & Carena’s JR & I tell you what Yeezy voice da jerk chicken is where it’s @! Cool beautiful women that’s loyal to her employees 💪🏾 best Jamaican on the east coast & I stamp that being a truck driver

  4. To think oxtails used to be considered a "cheap" food. Now, it's pricey af! Still, though–one of my favorite meats, ever!

  5. Trust me! He food is amazing! I’m eating some now. Lol! She the only Jamaican food in our area that’s authentic

  6. This is not Oxtail Stew, stews has potatoes, carrots. This lady is NOT Jamaican she didn’t wash her rice or the “beans”, the green onions,(which is NOT Scallion), Worcester sauce no, stewed tomato no,: you never go into a REAL JAMAICAN RESTAURANT and see oil sitting on top of the meat. No beans or slurry added either s definitely not Jamaican “beans” . She didn’t season the shrimp. Not Jamaican

  7. Firstly, The Rice should be WASHED FIRST! Secondly, Broad Beans not Butter Beans for the oxtails, authentic Jamaican rice and peas needs ginger and butter. 7/10 for me.

  8. Oxtails have suddenly become very expensive. They used to be offal and were virtually given away, but then they got trendy and the price shot up.

  9. Every day I am so grateful for immigrants who come to this country. It will be a great day for America when we stop seeing immigration as a problem.

  10. in the 1950 – 1960 I ate what my mum coocked: like oxtail, pigs feet, pigs ears and tails, horse meat.. last I didn' t like it was too sweet.. the rest I loved.. Am Dutch by the way..
