We wander through a wine sagra, try the sweetest roasted castagne, warm up with mulled wine, and have a simple fireside feast at home. This is truly one of the most beautiful months to live in rural Italy — calm, quiet, and full of small comforts.

What a lovely video! Autumn truly is a wonderful season, a magnificent swan song before the icy hush of winter. I could almost smell the roasting chestnuts: all of autumn in a shell! It's so good to know that even in November the little towns and borgs of Abruzzo continue the tradition of sagre and feste with artiisanal goods and tasty foods. Scanno looked beautiful and what a bonfire! At first I thought it was a mushroom cloud! And how enchanting to be dressed as a wood fairy to capture the minds of those little children! I would say it was all magical!
