Growing up, my local burger king had "bottomless fries" for a while, basically endless refills on your fries, and it just so happened that on fridays there was a social gathering that would happen there for several hours, basically from like early afternoon until they closed and we definitely caused them to stop doing bottomless fries lmao
Also I worked at a pizza place and the breadsticks we served were literally just a small pizza crust shaped into a rectangle with butter garlic and parmesan on top and then cooked in the pizza oven
And the craziest name I've ever seen (yes its his legal name) is "beezow doo doo zoppity bop bop bop"
PLEASE LEAVE THE POOR SERVICE WORKERS ALONE! You were kind but it’s very disruptive to someone’s work flow. They are almost never going to be honest and say “Yes you’re bothering me I have 10 other tables currently” for fear of not getting a tip and not being able to pay their bills.

as someone who used to work at dunkin. I had a person who multiple times a day would get a large iced coffee, 7 cream, 7 liquid sugar, and 7 pumps of caramel 😭 and honestly thats not even the worst. there were many drinks with just a splash of coffee on top of the creams and syrups
Everytime I went to olive garden I'd tell them to just leave the cheese grater with me and they always did this could be partially cause I worked there but even before I worked there they would still leave the grater when I asked them

The IHOP portion was so triggering. So back in my early 20s we decided one night to see how many pancakes we could eat in the all you can eat pancakes. THIS IS A MISTAKE. Please learn from my transgressions, 48 pancakes in a single sitting PLUS 2 eggs and bacon (stupid promo requirements) all with butter and syrup. The next day was so rough …. however I broke the restaurant record at the time and they paid for my meal.

To answer the physics behind the pancake question: Why does it get harder to get through the deeper I go?
1. Friction increases with depth: As the knife goes deeper into the pancakes, the pancake material covers the knife which increases the firction force on the knife significantly relatvie to when the knife was on top.
2. Normal force increases as pancake compresses, when you are cutting into the pancake, you are also compressing it which increases the density of the pancake.
3. Adhesion to the knife
4. Wedge mechanics: the deeper you go, the more pancake you are pushing away from the knife.
