You realise how little sense it makes that a spacious island with few selected inmates could solve the prison overpopulation problem, right?
I think life sentence prisoners should be sent to the moon or mars to start a colony! Better than spending rest of the life incarcerated ! And it will help the human race!

Pianosa Is another prison island. No development allowed. Italy is financially broke but finances these small enclaves for prisoners. Doesn't help much to stimulate economic growth

Being Italian myself I appreciate what they're trying to do here, but the fact that you could get 8 years for selling weed is an insanity that lead to our prisons being filled to the brim for no reason. Legalize cannabis and release prisoners incarcerated for non-violent weed dealing related crimes.
So you kill someone, get sent to do what i already do for 8 years. While they have to do it for 20 years i have to do it for 50 more years until i retire.
They send here the "Friends of Friends" Who got caught

I am a free person living in Turkey and these prisoners live a better life than I do.
But this is mostly about how much my country sucks versus how good their prison is(although their prison is pretty nice ngl).
