Italians eat pizza and pasta almost daily, yet they don’t struggle with obesity the way much of the world does.
So what’s going on? Why does a Neapolitan margherita not hit your waistline the same way a stuffed crust dripping with ranch does?
In this video, I break down the science, culture, and cooking techniques that explain the “Italian paradox.” From long-fermented dough that’s easier to digest, to fresh olive oil instead of seed oils, to portion sizes and the famous “al dente” pasta… you’ll see why Italian food is worlds apart from the Americanized versions most of us eat.
This isn’t just about pizza and pasta, it’s about how ingredients, lifestyle, and food culture shape health outcomes.

Awesome, you videos always made me hungry 😢, my wife will throw me out. Hats off to you.
A pleasant surprise.
Didn't expect this from a Pakistani food vlogger.
Really appreciated
Hello everyone! Today's video is not a food review, but a food commentary. This is my favourite type of video to make, where I can get all nerdy and geeky about food and share my thoughts with you guys. Don't worry the food reviews are not going anywhere. Ill be doing those as well, but every now and then, at least once a month ill do this style of video where I pick a food topic and dissect it.
Thank you all for your support, these are the types of videos im particularly passionate about ❤
Please share your fitness regime
Feeling guilty about the whole of last week now😢
And you forgot the portion size difference…you showed a thin roti type pizza and a just a handfull of itallian pasta in a middle of plate…that where difference comes…we had i slice with entire calories of full italian pizza and obviously if some one serves that thora sa pasta…..paisay hi pooray nai hoye
I don't agree about the flour. We have the finest organic flour
Excellent presentation.
Agreed with everything that you said. Well presented and factual.
I really miss real Italian food myself.
Stay blessed.
Great to have more insights about the OG Italian pizza ❤
How about you do a full review on Quatro Uno if you’re still in Islamabad, as QU is one of the few places in the city serving authentic or at least close to authentic Italian pizza.
Loved the episode. You echoed all my thoughts. Also, love how the red nails are a signature 🥲
Honestly food used to be healthy when it was cooked by our mothers back in the 90s and 80s. I miss the authenticity of food sm from older times 🙁
My favourite pakistani youtuber❤
is Quatro Uno review in the todo list ..
This is a loaded argument I been to Italy and yes the Italian's eat better than Americans or Pakistanis but I think this is up to the individual and education to make choices I remember in old days it was frowned upon if you eat too much in restaurants plus food was simple back then and trust me me as a kid in 1970 in hazara never heard of biryani food was very simple we use red flour unlike this white crap since I left in 84 every time I am back in Pakistan it's a horror show and what's a fascination with mayonnaise on every thing Pakistani people think if you eat what Americans or English eat must be good it's the opposite now here in America doctors will tell you to use ghee instead of seed oils or use olive oil
american eating blunders has been exposed, even in america. They are trying to make things right, thats why they are into fitness now.
by the way, american style of ordering food /buying ready made foods etc is a thing of past , it would be a disaster if we started this trend here, which is already here to be honest, it only brings illness, waste of money, and all the effects which result of illness and with no money.
Loved it. I totally disagree with the 1st part on ingredients though…maybe we can have a research based duel over it someday!
Another interesting thing is genetics…we're just meant to be fat. For people around the equator, even eating fats raises insulin while it does not for the gora
Loved the effort, loved the content, and the cheesy smile at the end
Baji thori urdu bhi bola Kare. Ap ki audience bhary gi
you're doing an amazing job!
I don't understand the format, all this effort but in English. We already have 100s of channels in English and other languages that have 6-7 digit subscribers no one can compete with. Why not make this in Urdu (you can add an English sound track too if you want international viewers too, as long as the slides are in Urdu and English both)…
Also flour is pronounced the same as flower.
Good video though.
Really love these kind of food videos, definitely a breath of fresh air compared to usual Pakistani food videos.
This was great but all you did was scratch the surface of the aranchini 😅.
Now do a deep dive into how 100% wheat roti is not your indigenous staple flat bread, it was pushed onto the population 4-5 generations ago by the British as it suited their export needs and internal elites thought of it as more modern. How modern roti has caused the modern diabetes epidemic, obesity, nutritional deficiencies by taking over the indigenous grains.
Let's expand and publicise this, because Pakistan needs to know. Plus there's loads more!
Agree with everything you say. Using Mayonnaise too in Pizza and Pasta…….. I like Pizza just with home made Pizza sauce with a bit of cheese.
Assalam o Alaikum. I just watched your Tehzeeb video which was my first on your channel. Tehzeeb/ Rahat started in front of me. Bread and butter as well. And the old uncle auntie bakery in Gakhar before that …… thanks for bringing back the memories. You have a great individual style. Keep it up Beta!
If you are doing this vlog for Pakistanis then why in foreign language English?
Such an interesting video! It’s a great reminder to take care of ourselves, drink water, stay active, and eat fresh fruits and veggies. As the ancient Greeks said, everything in moderation. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!❤
