Why are Europeans healthier than Americans?

I flew to Spain to learn more about European culture, lifestyle, and diet.

In this video, I’m uncovering the secrets behind why European countries tend to have higher life expectancies.

I’ll be breaking down the different foods I find at grocery stores, farmers markets, and restaurants – and exploring how they may contribute to the impressive health of European populations.

I strongly believe sleep, diet, and lifestyle are the biggest levers you can pull to heal and improve your health.

It’s always meat, organs, fruit, honey, and raw dairy.

This is an animal-based diet – and I believe it’s the most optimal diet for humans.

Dr. Paul Saladino received his medical degree from the University of Arizona Medical School. His use of “doctor” or “Dr.” in relation to himself solely refers to that degree. Dr. Saladino is a licensed physician in California, but he no longer practices in any state and does not see patients so he can focus on educating people as a full time activity. This video is for general informational purposes only. It should not be used to self-diagnose and it is not a substitute for a medical exam, cure, treatment, diagnosis, and prescription or recommendation. It does not create a doctor-patient relationship between Dr. Saladino and you. You should not make any change in your health regimen or diet before first consulting a physician and obtaining a medical exam, diagnosis, and recommendation. Always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

  1. going to Mallorca for a healthy food study, one of the most touristic places of Spain throughout the entire year where foremost young people go there in order to drink +party, its even a little Island which due to its size is very limited for farming
That´s the very last place I would go for studying/searching for healthy food.

That´s like visiting spring break for a study about sober people

  2. OMG, your approach of food is so strict, so stressful, so professional !
I'm exhausted just by watching your video.
    Relax, man, you're in Europe!
Food is about nature, pleasure, simplicity, enjoying the moment, the food,… LIFE. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  3. Paul, with all due respect, you can't go in the most stupid turistic place, that there is almost no Spanish colture and call it Spain and look for healthy food! You need to go in the real Spain for that, in land, like Madrid, the heart of Spain! Come on!!!

  4. Se ve que no tiene cultura del aceite de oliva, que le da, por sus propiedades mil vueltas a la mantequilla.si te separas unos pocos kms de zonas turísticas, puedes encontrar, en los pueblos muchísima comida fresca por todas partes.

  5. Next time, instead of going to the tourist areas (basically the coast) try going into the little villages. The restaurants there serve real food, made from scratch. Last, the sobrassada, you should try it next time, it's basically pork meat, pork fat, paprika and spices. The one you showed probably is home made and it hasn't any preservatives or chemicals in it.

  6. Going to one of the most touristy islands in Europe and then only checking touristy shops and markets is the biggest fail.

Still, much better than the US.

  7. Mallorca is not Spain,
It’s like saying Hawaii represents America. It’s not.
Try going to Madrid, less tourists more „normal life“. Or small towns across Spain.

  8. The rating system is not about what is healthy and what isn't healhy. It's a system that compares products within the same category.

  9. Tsa let's you take boiled pumpkin in the security zone? I thought as a spreadable paste they would not accept it.?

  10. What is your opinion on sugar cane Coke?
Also: the nutriscore in Spain is bs, you’d see absolute cancerous things get an A and the most healthy ones get an F

  11. Britain calling, our food is still very much covered by the EU standards we adopted in the good old days. Not sure how much longer that will last. We don't have farmers markets in every village, but we do have small enterprises that source good quality locally produced food that we can order on line. I was shocked by the diabetes statistic. But I know in the UK we screen for diabetes and wonder if the incidence in Spain is because they go looking for it, whereas in the US they wait till your foot has gangrene before they diagnose….

  12. Nutriscores are an EU-wide thing and they're a disaster… anything with a slightly high fat content like ribeye, butter or full-fat yogurt will be penalised, it's a shame. I sigh every time I see this. How misleading and completely a shame for public health.
