  1. The first time I saw Billy Joel live was 1989 with Elton John! It was amazing & I've seen Billy Joel 3 times since & I plan on seeing him in 2025!

  2. bottle of whites, a bottle of red
Perhaps a bottle of rose instead
We'll get a table near the street
    In our old familiar place
You and I, face to face
A bottle of red, a bottle of whites
It all depends upon your appetite
I'll meet you any time you want
    In our Italian Restaurant
Things are okay with me these days
Got a good job, I got a good office
I got a new wife, got a new life
    And the family's fine
    We lost touch long ago
You lost weight I did not know
You could ever look so nice after
    So much time
Do you remember those days hanging out
    At the village green
    Engineer boots, leather jackets
    And tight blue jeans
You drop a dime in the box play a
    Song about New Orleans
    Cold beer, hot lights
    My sweet romantic teenage nights
    Brenda and Eddie were the
    Popular steadies
And the king and the queen
    Of the prom
Riding around with the car top
    Down and the radio on
    Nobody looked any finer
Or was more of a hit at the
    Parkway Diner
We never knew we could want more
    Than that out of life
    Surely Brenda and Eddie would
    Always know how to survive
Brenda and Eddie were still going
Steady in the summer of '75
When they decided the marriage would
Be at the end of July
    Everyone said they were crazy
Brenda you know that you're much too lazy
And Eddie could never afford to live that
    Kind of life
But there we were wavin' Brenda and
    Eddie goodbye
Well they got an apartment with deep
    Pile carpet
And a couple of paintings from Sears
A big waterbed that they bought
    With the bread
They had saved for a couple
    Of years
They started to fight when the
    Money got tight
And they just didn't count on
    The tears
They lived for a while in a
    Very nice style
But it's always the same in the end
They got a divorce as a matter
    Of course
    And they parted the closest
    Of friends
Then the king and the queen went
    Back to the green
But you can never go back
    There again
Brenda and Eddie had had it
Already by the summer of '75
From the high to the low to
    The end of the show
For the rest of their lives
    They couldn't go back to
    The greasers
The best they could do was
    Pick up their pieces
We always knew they would both
Find a way to get by
    That's all I heard about
    Brenda and Eddie
Can't tell you more than I
    Told you already
And here we are wavin' Brenda
    And Eddie goodbye
A bottle of red, a bottle of whites
Whatever kind of mood you're in tonight
I'll meet you anytime you want
    In our Italian Restaurant

  3. I want to sing this one for karaoke but its gonna take at least twice as long to get good at singing it than most other songs. Probably well worth it though. It's just the 3rd part thats hard to remember since theres so many lyrics

  4. Dear Billy, can you activate the translation on your channel? At 73 years old it is difficult for me to study English. Each of your songs activates the translator to understand the words of your lyrics. You are an amazing artist and I love all your music. 👏👏 I send you a huge hug from Turin. (Italy.)Thank you.🙏🙋‍♀️🤗❤️

  5. I was there…. Billy will sell out a stadium faster than any of the newer artists. Maybe even faster than that dumb cluck who dates the football player.

  6. some musician know their limitatuions. Other musos song karake, Some musicians dont kn ow all the words

  7. Casual fans dont understand how good of a drummer liberty devitto was for Billy joel… perfect tempo, in pocket, and fit billys writing style to a T

  8. I had the pleasure of seeing Billy on two occasions. Tomorrow, they are giving away "Billy Joel bobble heads" at the Yankee game, and from what I understood, it was planned for him to do a show afterwards. I am an avid Yankee fan and would have just loved to be at that that game to see my Yankees and to be able to get one of those once in a lifetime items. What's ironic, is that tomorrow, is my 58th!
As a brain tumor survivor, I know the fears and self-doubts that go along with having issues "between the ears!" I truly hope that Billy is able to overcome his health challenges and is able to go back to entertaining the world with his beautiful music!

  9. When i v was at Rutgers New Brunswick i could get reception when it was rainy but dad didn't believe i was getting Allentown repciti9 and his songt was about the Allentown, PA where both parents came from area nearby

  11. Billy, I am from City Island, NYC. The ❤ I thought I would marry… Lived off exit 60 of the LIE. I will love you forever. 😙

  12. Never saw him live until now….sheeeeesh!!!🤯🤯🤯 They dont make 'em like him any more. What a performance! 🤘😔🎸🤘😔🎸🤘😔🎸🤘😔🎸🤘😔🎸🤘😔🎸🤘😔🎸🤘😔🎸🤘😔🎸

  13. Apart from being insanely catchy I always loved this song for its switch hit – it starts out romantic and slowly reality creeps in and you realise it’s a cautionary tale. Like a movie with a twist. Also that it’s 5 songs in one reflecting each phase of the relationship (excitement of reconnecting, revelling in glory days, arguments, resignation, nostalgia for the past, acceptance) – all narrated by different parties . All round genius.
