Pizza. It’s the number one food on the planet. Ok, maybe not literally. But, we can all agree that it’s in every human being’s top five, right? Like, who can say ‘No’ to pizza? 1. Many Chicagoans ( I am from Chicago) call deep dish "tourist pizza". There are many Chicagoans actually prefer thin crust ( sometimes called "tavern style") pizza. This video is very misleading.

  2. Don't care if it's "real" or not, I'm eating the whole f*cking thing. Love NY style, but love deep dish style as well, really not a fan of Tavern style.

  3. I don’t know Uno, but Lou Mahlnatii is the absolute best. Though if you want the worst pizza experience, go out to eat a Chicago-style pie with your vegetarians friends in Seattle.

  4. My Unifying Definition of pizza is: flatbread dough, sauce, with optional toppings, baked together until the bread is ready. I would consider Deep Dish to fit my definition 🍕

  5. I used to be just under an hour’s drive to Bertucci’s but now many have closed and it’s 1.5-2 hours to one. But when we go it’s gotta be a Sporkie with extra topping of caramelized onions. I love the mounds of ricotta and the sausage. Mmmm.

  6. It's not pizza. It's a casserole.

Let me tell you about this not-pizza. In defiance of the Gods and all things Unmourned, you put the sauce atop the cheese. Atop! Cold! On display like some kind of sauce whore. This is a marinara swimming pool for mudcrabs. I'm not sure whether to eat it or throw a drake in it and make a wish. And if I were to make a wish, it would be for some real pizza, not tomato soup in a breadbowl.

You disappoint me, Nerevar. Is this how you honor the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned?

  7. Are Italians from New York the same as Italians from Chicago? They are both guidos, but one is more insufferable than the other.

  8. As a Chicagoan myself, there are TWO Chicago pizzas. One is the subject of this video. The beautiful and tasty deep dish that the locals all agree is the "tourist" pizza. When we get family and friends in from out of town and they ask for Chicago style, we take them to Lou's, Uno, or Giordano's. But the true Chicagoans know that the thin crust tavern cut pizza is the TRUE Chicago style.

  9. I love all the different kinds of pizza, a thin crispy crust, a good deep dish, a Detroit style with the caramelized edges, etc. One thing that I really liked, and I don’t remember who said it, but a New York slice can be appreciated on the go, but a deep dish everyone needs to sit down and eat together…it’s a communal, take time, family thing.

  10. It's an abomination, plain and simple! That and a typical example for everything that is wrong with American food culture, because if America is lacking ONE thing regarding food, it is culture!

  11. It's an irrelevant Q for me: I'm not a pizza gatekeeper and I like NY style, Detroit style, deep dish, Napoli style, etc

  12. Pizza also comes in Italian style, British style, various other styles but my personal favourite was the seafood pizza from a pub in Bunbury Western Australia. It’s not all about NYC or Chicago style, though I tried the Chicago style and wasn’t impressed.
