The Dolomites is one of my favorite ski destination in addition to St Anton am Arlberg in Austria, 3 Valleys in France, and Snowbird/Alta in the US.
In the Dolomites I always stay in Selva di Val Gardena, = Volkenstein auf Deutsch. I like the central location of Selva. From there you can easily access most of the ski areas in the Dolimites. Selva is a big enough small town with nice restaurants, cafes and bars, grocery stores. I like to go there also in summer to do some hiking. My second option is stay in Corvara.

I'm planning to ski the Dolomites in a few years time. I'm focused on Austria for now and am going to 3 resorts in January. For the Dolomites I had Wolkenstein and Corvara as my two top options, leaning towards the latter but seems to be little in it. I like both long runs and ski circuits. I'll probably aim for 10 to 12 days to take it all in: Sellaronda, Super8 and Gebirgsjäger-Skitour..
What about airport access? Is Innsbruck your recommendation for both? Bozen seems too small for reliable connections? I have direct flights from here (Sâo Paulo) to Frankfurt, Munich, Milan and Zurich.
