So glad it wasnt destroyed!! But are the gardens and out buildings still there?
😄👍
My favorite type of old house. One that still stands. Great video as always
I love the fact that they were so true to the English style and that this house would fit right in with the English countryside. Beautiful architecture. I`m so glad they haven`t altered the interior.
Oh yes the working people can find new houses. Were the people paid for there houses to be destroyed by the wealthy ???Wealthy can do whatever they like. Just like today. Shameful. Hope he haunts his house of ill repute till the end of times. No rest for the wicked.
A bit over the top in my opinion.
The landscaping was just extraordinary. Very beautiful.
It's happening again, right now at this time in history, which is exactly why anti-trust laws need to be updated and enforced. The little fines for current and developing monopolies is just a slap on the wrist for these people. Both the Lahaina Maui, Hawaii and the LA area had unusual wildfires that had similar things going on. Both had fire hydrants that were dry. The LA area also just happened to have a dry reservoir whose purpose was to remained filled in case of fire. However, it had a hole in it that they hadn't been repaired in months even through the area was in a drought. In addition, the people living in the area had their fire insurance cancelled right before the wildfire event. Both cities are slated by a unelected foreign organization to become an AI city. Governor Greene of Hawaii had just attended a meeting of this organization talking about these plans and Governor Newsome of California danced excitedly back and forth during a interview while his city burned.
Yes, it happens today and many cities are slated to become AI cities, you can look on the website of the city you live in to see if your city is on the list. They are not advertising it because the people living in these cities have had no input on this plan that the UN and other foreign unelected organizations that wealthy elites and large banks and large corporations belong to. If you don't want to wake up to a disaster happening in proportions not heard of in recorded history and you find your homeowners insurance was cancelled just before the event happened, then you may wish to address this issue sooner rather than later. Especially, if you live in an area with a beautiful view and/or needed minerals beneath your land that elites are licking their chops over.
It's great to see It's still used and kept up as best they can. I wonder if it is open to visitors?
Gluttony
I love how you kept the suspense until the very end to show current color photos and NOT to announce that it had eventually been demolished. I was on the edge of my seat! Hahahahaha
I’m glad it’s still standing
WOW – what a GORGEOUS house – thanks for the color pix – brings it all into a much better perspective!
Well Done,,,, amazing….
Thanks!
Incredibly beautiful.
For the record, this is still possible and happening. Ken Griffin is one of many examples. The only difference is that the coastline from Palm Beach to Miami Beach has become the new Gold Coast
Lucky monks!
we need to bring back anti trust laws, and require property taxes paid by land barrons, especially after making an entire town homeless after booting out and demolishing the towns……looking at you bezos and musk……….
ima gonna guess, that the preists pay NO PROPERTY TAXES, just sucking off the teet of the taxpayers to fund thier infrastructure upkeep, to come and go from the property….roads, cops fire depart. and TEACHERS!!!!! i am sure they travel to store to buy food. from people taught by teachers you and I pay for.
Architect Bertram G. Goodhue would later design the handsome Nebraska State Capitol building, the California Tower at San Diego’s Balboa Park and the Egyptian Revival themed Los Angeles Library.
interesting. i like the story and the accompanying drawings and photos. good job.
Unbelievable 😮
You mentioned public areas; do they give tours?
KEN, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONCE AGAIN, ANOTHER FANTASTIC NON-DEMOLITION, AND A DEMOLITION FREE ZONE FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAD A CLUE WHAT THE END WAS GOING TO BE WHEN, EARLIER IN THE VIDEO, I TOOK NOTICE OF YOUR USE OF PRESENT TENSE, RATHER THAN PAST TENSE TERMINOLOGY!!!!!!!!!!! I FIGURED THEN THAT IT WAS STILL STANDING, AND I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KEEP THESE COMING, AND LONG LIVE THIS HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The picture you show of St. Bartholomew's Church in Manhattan is the previous building of the church, on a different site than the building designed by Bertram Goodhue, which is also Romanesque rather than Gothic. Goodhue was one of the greats, producing the Los Angeles Public Library and the Nebraska State Capitol, among other masterpieces.
Picturesque mansions of this era are a far cry from the glass and steel eyesores we see today.
One mistake . . .
It's a pleasure to know the house still stands in its original glory. Too many architectural marvels were torn down to feed the greed of grifting property developers.
He “defaulted” on the estate? Surely, he owned it outright. I would think a person so good with money would secure his home for the entire future, especially surviving the Depression and it is not like the war affected his property directly. That means foreseeing taxes and maintenance. So, the home really was not that important to him? Good for it to convert to a monetary, anyway, good preserving and hopefully entirely practical vs. mostly opulent.
John D. Rockefeller relocated a railroad in Westchester to build his estate.
