Shepards pie has lamb. This is not a Shepards Pie. Have you ever seen a Shepard with a herd of cattle? What you made is a Cottage Pie.

I cook for a recovery ministry, 30-40 and ive been requesred to make shepherds pie. Obviously, wine excluded. Challenge accepted.
Try doing it in a premade pie crust you get in the freezer section, unless of course you wanna do homemade, but I swear it takes it up like 3 notches! And yes to the gravy! Yum!!

Heads up – if it's got mince beef it's cottage pie
Lamb = Shepherd's pie (sheep)
Beef = Cottage pie (cow)
That is a cottage pie as it's beef, shepherd's pie is lamb.

Cottage pie is beef, shepherds pie is lamb. Either way that looks tasty af, especially with you putting some soured cream in the mash that sounds amazing and I need to try it 🤌 also gravy goes well with so many things I have definitely put it on Shepard's/cottage pie before ❤🤤
