The original Irish dish called colcannon was mashed potatoes, butter, dash of milk and KALE. Cabbage addition is a more modern, American (I think) take on it and is much less flavourful. Traditional at Halloween before we 'bobbed' for and apple in a basin of water with our hands behind our backs. Get Curley Kale people.
