This week, join me as I explore Italy’s rather stinky hot springs in Bagni San Filippo, Tuscany – a surreal natural wonder that smells like rotten eggs but feels absolutely magical! 🌋💦 In this travel vlog, I’ll take you inside Tuscany’s famous sulfur thermal baths, wander the medieval streets of Cortona, enjoy authentic Italian food (yes, pasta & tiramisu!), and even stop by the lakeside fortress town of Castiglione del Lago in Umbria.
These natural hot springs in Italy are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced – dazzling white calcium rock formations, steaming waterfalls, and healing thermal waters that locals have used for centuries. They might stink, but you won’t believe how breathtaking they are in person.
Along the way, I’ll show you:
✨ The best things to do in Cortona, Tuscany – medieval streets, piazzas & Under the Tuscan Sun vibes
✨ What it’s really like visiting Bagni San Filippo hot springs (yes, the smell is real!)
✨ A taste of authentic Tuscan & Umbrian food – from pici carbonara to dreamy tiramisu
✨ A quick detour into Umbria to explore Castiglione del Lago and its 13th-century fortress overlooking Lake Trasimeno
Whether you’re planning a Tuscany travel itinerary, searching for hidden gems in Italy, or just love soaking up Italian culture, food, and landscapes – this video will give you a front-row seat.

I used to wake up listening to the symphony of birds singing outside from the big trees around my house. Wonderful! views, castles, lake, narrow streets, landscapes! Lots of love as well.
Another wonderful video in every respect. I feel that I have just been on a lovely short break with my own tour guide. Amazing. Thank you.
The Beautiful Ula in beautiful Tuscany, the arrows must be flying!
bellissima! What a great tour! Thank you!
I see you enjoyed the tiramisu, which is a dish I've never tasted. I'm weird for a American in that I hate the taste of coffee. I'm glad I got to see the hot springs thru your eyes. It's not a spot I'd be able to get to see thru mine as I don't move that well anymore. Looking forward to see other people, places, and things in the future with you. Thanks
Beautiful vlog. Thanks for sharing your trip to Italy. I love going to hot mineral springs; have never seen any with the milky colored water. The rotten egg smell is always part of it.
Thanks for another entertaining video. You Rock
What a beautiful trip! Thanks for taking us along.😊
Ula, WOW what more can I say, absolutely amazing, the views, the commentary, the history and the food! Excellent well done. The Cicadas bought back memories of younger days here in New Zealand. You are so lucky to be able to travel around Europe and now we can come with you.
Stunning scenery, beautifully 👀captured thanks for sharing 👍
Beautiful video ❤❤❤
Another brilliant video, thank you. Good to see you enjoying every moment.
Hi Ula, the sound of cicadas reminds me of primary school years in Australia during hot dry summers in the '60's. We all used to collect the shells and show them to our class mates.
I love Cortona, I remember walking right up to the castle. I read the book Under The Tuscan Sun while on holiday in Florence and this is why we visited Corona. Beautiful place.❤️
I’ve watched you from the start when you moved onboard the boat with Josh, and somehow, you now seem so much younger and carefree. I’m loving your travel vlogs.
Great places!! I would love to visit those one day…and I'm curious to know if you notice any difference on your health after the bath and how many days did you smell like rotten egg? I love the way you make and edit the video's, inclusing the music🧡💚💛
Wawzers! Like i was in the room, gorgeously filmed with all those stunning views and sites. I remember those tiramisus very well, they are the best!
I was thinking, this was too beautiful of a trip to not get it immortelized in some way so maybe it’s a great idea to get an artwork done by Hannah or Anthony from @artinthecorridor, fellow boaters! It could go even with you in the van! 🎉❤💎😎🥂
Absolutely love Tuscany. It’s a magical place. My son was married in Cortona and I have stood at that view point. It has brought back some wonderful memories. Thank you so much for taking us with you. We definitely get the cicadas here in the summer months.
We are truly blessed and your vlogs are exceptional. God Bless. ❤
WAWWW ULA,,,,, YOU ARE SOOOO DELICIOUS,,, WE SHOULD HAVE BABIES TOGETHER,,, LOTS OV THEM!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 👍👍 ❤

Ula what a beautiful video. The views were so beautiful and the history of the places was amazing. So looking forward to your next video 🥰
looking good Ula your channel is awesome keep up the good work.
Hi, amazing video again. I loved the way you described your surroundings, in such a way as to make me want to visit. Hope you enjoyed the break from your conversion too 💛😁
Beautiful. We hear the cicadas here in TN , but not for much longer. Only 25 days to go 😮 x
Wonderful video and narration diary of Tuscany and I didn’t miss the van build at all 👍 thought the carbonated rocks looked maybe slippery and your Egg cellant at 12:10 brought a smile. Nice job
Lovely vlog, really enjoyed it !
Wow. Really enjoyed watching😊😊
Hi Ula, fantastic views amazing looking food. I love Italy but I have never been in one of those sulphur springs. Hope you have a wonderful week
What a beautiful trip this was, you are an angel on earth for coming to visit me in Italy <3 love you!!! Loved watching your take on Cortona and the springs 🙂
Thank you for the great video, it made me realise how much I miss Italy – Toscana in particular, need to go back very soon… Great video, Umbria is overlooked by many and is very special too..
I thought this weeks video would definitely be either van conversion, Sussex or Yorkshire. No, it’s Italy. You certainly have a lot of variety in your life.😁
Tuscany looks beautiful. The hot springs, the architecture, the cuisine. It’s definitely added to my itinerary.
I’ve never been to Italy before. I was literally a mile from the border in the Alps in January. Close, but no cannoli.😂
Really nicely filmed Ula.
Thanks for visiting. 🥂
Late to watch but the wait was worth it.
It looks absolutely beautiful. Hope you had a fantastic time ❤
Fantastic video I loved it such a beautiful place
Great video Ula, place looked beautiful. Not a fan of tiramisu tho 😂
Ula I'd like to thank you for reminding me how beautiful the sight, sounds and smells are, my father no longer here bless him was born in brindisi and when my sister and I were little girls we'd spend a month every year with his sisters and they're families…Thankyou for taking me on your journey it was beautiful ❤
Wow, what an absolutely exquisite job you make of these videos. You and they are so classy. Wonderful filming, music choices and commentary. Congratulations Ula, you are a star. Come on bbc, give this woman her own series! ❤ Alex from Brighton x
I loved exploring with you, Ula. I'd never heard of Cortona but this really makes me want to visit.
Looks a remarkable place Ula but you have such a way of capturing a place you could make anywhere look inviting!
What can I say, just a lovely lovely video!❤❤❤
Beautiful video but …that carbonara was orrible to see …to many mistake…carbonara is good to order only in rome generally …and depends in which restaurant
A roman here 😘
Lovely video Ula photography gorgeous. Tuscany is so beautiful and the landscape is dazzling. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Italy is a wonderful place with many flaws but you can eat and drink everywhere from the north to the south, including the islands of Sardinia and Sicily. Italy is a crossroads of the world, east and west, descendant of Rome to today, art, culture and food with all its flaws and problems.
Loved watching this episode, what a wonderful location to have visited. Your delivery of a fabulous video is so professionally organised! Some TV channels needs to sign you up for a travel show.
Also has anyone mentioned to you before how much of a resemblance to Sophie Marceau you have. Especially when she was in the Bond Movie The World Is Not Enough. 😊
Hi Ula. We have just been watching your video. How wonderful and so enjoyable. You made it so interesting with your narrative. The presentation was very professional too. We are looking forward to the next one. Thank you 🍷
I am so glad you are doing this!
Pure queste avete scoperto 😢
Hi Ula, you that sound is exactly the same as when I went on holiday to Malta it’s a lovely noise
