I am in Rome eating all the best Italian foods in Rome! Or that’s redundant I guess, I can just say the best foods in Rome. Obviously authentic Italian food in Rome is everywhere! But I’ve never been to Italy before and this is one of my dream trips coming to life. I am in Europe for a wedding, so I decided to come to Italy a week early and document my eats and experiences here for you all. Give you all a UA Eats Italy food tour!
This is not just the first ever UA Eats Italy video, but also one of the first ever UA Eats international videos in a non-English speaking country! Well besides the UA Eats China vids I made two years ago. I hope you all enjoy this though as I eat my way around Rome and later Naples. I will eat authentic carbonara in Rome and also try some authentic Rome style pizza, since I know Roman pizza is what everyone is going to want to see. Hope you enjoy these videos outside of the US and Canada!

UA – love your Frank Pepe New Haven tee shirt!!!!
My dumb American self would’ve drank that water out of the bottle . lol.
Remember carbonara does NOT have any type of cream. Abnd it doesnt have bacon, it is guancialle.
Did you try the gabagool yet?
When are you visiting the Sixteenth chapel?
No, infatti, e se te ne stai a casa tua a mangiare le tue schifezze siamo più contenti
Usually the best gelato places have their gelato covered with lids, so you actually went to a fairly legit place.
Best pasta i ever had was in some grandmas hole in the wall in Italy, spaghetti with tomato sauce was freaking incredible
UA, it looks like you missed the main St Peters chamber and side chapels which are pretty cool. Two nearby basilicas are St John's Lateran and Santa Maria Maggiore which are beautiful. There's a beautiful church on every street corner in Rome (esp in the residential area) like St Andrews(veritable art galleries). Don't forget the Sistine Chapel behind St Peters, the Spanish steps & the Trevi fountain. Also, south of the Roman forum is the Circus Maximus ruins. I notice in Rome most restaurants menu is organized in appetizers, 1st and 2nd courses as opposed to a complete meal package all in one. Enjoy.
UA, not only reviews are getting worse but your comment about the pantheon, just cemented the fact you are quite uncultured and not to mention, having bad taste.
go for cappuccino in the morning brother! cheers!
I read in the comments that the dome of the Pantheon is made of reinforced concrete: nothing could be further from the truth! The dome is built of concrete with volcanic pozzolana, whose proportions decrease as you get closer to the Oculus, so that it feels lighter towards the center of the dome. Then the guy says, "The Pantheon? Nothing new!" In fact, it's been there for 2,000 years!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This guy repeats himself over n over
Hey UA , let me know how to contact you for sponsorship , we have a coffee company.
UA: The Pantheon "was only ok….just expect to see a big dome with a light shining through." John McEnroe: "You can't be serious man. You cannot be serious!!!"
Fun fact: "crema della nonna" is made of real cremated grandma's!
The pizza is definitely better there than in the states. I don't know if it's the flour or water or both that makes the difference.
Im from The Bronx and i went to Europe and dinners were lasting 5 hours!
You went to Italy totally unprepared. When You went to your 1st restaurant you looked like tourist, dressed like a tourist, ordered like a tourist (cheaply) and therefore were treated like a tourist, hence slow service.
Hey UA, the reason food is so cheap in Italy is because the average worker there only makes about $2.800 USD a month.
While in America, the average worker here makes $4.800 a month.
Cheaper wages, equal cheaper food. The less the average workers make the cheaper the food has to be so they can afford it.
And in general, they do not season things as well in Europe and the UK as we do in America, so a lot of our food has more flavor, and more seasoning. The JOLLY boys from the UK, Josh and Ollie, talk all the time about how the food in the UK and Europe does not have as much flavor as food in America, because they do not use as much seasonings as we do.
34:07 😂😂😂 great vid!!
Loved the prices in Italy. Crazy compared to the states.
The Pantheon is a 2000 years old building…nothing new 😀
Consider Venice if you have the time for a day or two. Easy accessible by train. Fresh seafood and delicious Pizza.
0:11 you are the man for wearing a mask on the plane to keep others healthy
All'Antico Vinaio is a tourist trap. Kind of a shame you didn't get to try some better places for panini because I think schiacciata is the greatest type of bread on earth. MUCH better than focaccia and very hard to find in the states.
Carbonara 👍
You are looking for saltiness in the foods that brings out the flavoring and foods cook in lots of fat and other additives that make foods like here in America taste good but in countries like Italy they dont do that in lots of thier foods and if Im not mistaken this is why they're more healthier than Americans and I think that's great how they make food there. I think it would make a healthier America if we do what they're doing over there. The stuff they put in food here in America is to makes people crave more and it's just unhealthy.
You have Covid, get better
I don't think in the US or anywhere else they give you free bottled water. only water from the toilet is free.
Every ice cream with ice crystals in it belongs in the trash. I am sorry, inedible.
I tried 4 different carbonara in rome and all were so salty and imbalanced (and I LOVE salt). Was such a shame! Milan and Florence had much better food imo!
Tonnarello is the pasta restaurant you need to try before you leave! It has a line but is absolutely worth it! Personal favorite is amattriciana with a side of Lambrusco 🙂
UA, note to self go get that carbonera you had, excellent!
The kind of travel blog style video was a nice change of pace! Glad to see some highlights from the trip
I loved when you figured out the Espresso and the bun. That's the moment you begin to love Italy that much more.
Carbonara is usually made with dry pasta not fresh. It’s very difficult to find in the U.S. because the execution is difficult and time consuming for kitchen staff. Italian American places always cheat by using cream.
