Hey Josh and Ollie. I'm a new subscriber and I love your content. I'm from Michigan and your guys Detroit videos were awesome. Next time try Traverse City, Michigan especially in the summer! I lived in Traverse City for a few years and it's a great place to see. They even have an airport. Try eating at North Peak it is a brewery and restaurant.

Pineapple is tied to Hawai'i's history of colonization, as well as the fall of their monarchy as Hawai'i was annexed by the US. You wouldn't think a fruit would have a significant role in international affairs, but thanks to the Dole Corporation ig 🤷 If people were sensitive about pineapple that's likely why.

Shave ice machine used to common in upper middle class household in Southeast asia because at some point we have an open house party and catering isn't entirely accessible so you just happened to have a shave ice machine for one particular reason, so. . . Ollie trying to buy that machine justified
There are no Taro deities guys. Man just like your recent LA Street food episode- you didn't do your research when getting a guide. The LA guys took you to a spot they have never been to.
These "foodies" still say 'they' cook it in the ground but don't do it themselves. If they were from Hawaii they would have said 'we or our family' cook it underground with river rocks and banana leaves. Jason would have had a cousin less than a mile away- that would be a better guide!

Eat the poi with the lomi lomi salmon or the kalua pig. You need the salty and the other textures for balance!
I love you guys! I mean loving the malasadas, realizing that garlic shrimp is just garlic shrimp but still delicious and especially the shaved ice. It’s true shaved ice isn’t a snow cone. I don’t think I’ve ever said this or realized it but it’s the ice. It really is the ice and that expensive shaved ice machine. It’s the texture.

You guys needa go fiji! And try traditional fijian meals alongside getting involved making it and then try fijian indian dishes (Definitely recommend Indigo Restaurant) aw and try not to go with tour guides unless its exploring fiji because they will just take you to places they are paid to promote! I guarantee you guys will love it there

We have a guava tree in my backyad hehe. They grow everywhere around here. Guava and lemon juice its amazing! And guava jam its bomb. 😊

Brah i luv you guys but you went piss off a bunch of locals including myself. Poi IS ESSENTIAL to being kānaka maoli of Hawaiʻi nei. You eat the poi in between the salty foods. Come back to Hawaiʻi and hang with one real local. Jason semi-count and this couple no represent Hawaiʻi. Like one schmall kine percent. Come back.
