I love this video and I love your channel so much! Can I just get you a bottle next time I'm in Austin? You're such a fun person
I am going to echo everyone else just how good your videos are. I like that you are reacting to the wines once released, you really listen to your audience. I hope to see a similar video with Trader Joe’s wines-my main store for wine purchases. Keep up the good content! 🥂
Dang South Austin Costco? You went to early or a bit to late. They just had a vacqueyras and CDP.
2022 is a good vintage for Bordeaux so that is probably helping the low-cost Bordeaux.
Super fun! Now I finally know which wines to get at Costco! Thanks for being the most amazing husband! 😘😘
What state are you in because my costco prices are way different?
My favorite wine ever from Costco was the Kirkland 3 Vines
Great video! I just stumbled across it, watched it, and assumed you were some massive channel. Great production, fun voice!
Congrats on hitting 1K subscribers 🎉🥂
Nooooooo, not the Barolo! I haven't tried this one but it reminded me that I picked up the Barreri and Rovati Barolo from TJ's a little while ago and haven't tried it yet. I just popped over to your Trader Joe's Italian wine video to see if it was included in that (it is, hooray!) and… nooooo, not the Barolo! Dang it! I'll have to open it up soon to see for myself, but at least now my expectations are tempered. Thanks for another great video–I like this format!
Great again. I was hoping to get a review of their Rioja. I just had it and thought it was good. Now I have others to check out. Thanks.🍷
Good work!
Bought a case of the Bordeaux Supérieur. And you reminded me I'm almost out of parchment paper!
Fun video Justin, you have a great sense of humor and keep it very entertaining. Just found you, so looking forward to checking out your other content. Keep up the great work and cheers!
Sorry but Interestingly, some Masters of Wine have given great reviews to Barolo and Ribera del Duero, suggesting they can easily be worth twice their price and I completely agree with them
I have been a wine lover since a trip to Spain years ago. We were in Tarragona not having any idea what to drink. A nice Spanish guy at the next table let us try his wine (Ribera del Duero). I’ve been hooked for good red wine ever since.
Quality review.
But I would have liked to have seen him review Costco wines with other wines included.
Better learn how to say Veuve Clicqout first… but you are right about using a 20buck champs for mimosa.
The Bordeaux Superieur is such a banger this year. 2022 was apparently a great vintage in BDX, so I expected a solid wine even for $7 but the complexity was surprising. I thought it’d just be a well made simple wine, but it actually has some of the “TeRrOiR nOtEs” that I look for in good Bordeaux
Generally the barolo from Costco is decent, surprised you gave it the rating you did
As much as you would hate it, i would love this video going through every Franzia box wine
Excellent video! I wish you could have tasted the Kirkland chateauneuf du pape or vacquerayas. Or their Napa Cab. I guess they are not available where you live.
Im starting to think that you really don’t like wine at all.
most of the wines at costco stink and im surprised you gave anything more than a C. they have a few wines over 40.00 that are decent but for the most part everyone should stick to total wine . (unless your a student and under 10.00 bucks is all you can afford)
I really enjoy your presentation style, knowledgeable and humourous at the same time. I took forward to watching the channel take off!
No guesses on the grapes??
Love the honesty!
The faux surprise is ridiculous.
as everyone else mentioned already, great format! Will subscribe to see more content
How about doing all of the rioja wines Costco has…
You sometimes mention that a wine could use some time decanting. In those cases would an aerator also help?
Is it just my bad luck with wine purchased at Costco? Last Christmas I stocked up on wine, approximately 12 bottles. I think 5 bottles were corked, I mean really nasty. It must be an issue with transporting and storage.
I just joined Costco because I heard their wines are so good. The first wine I bought was the rosé. I thought something dreadful had happened to my palate it was so awful. Since then, every wine I bought has been a disappointment, forgetful or bad. I am Piemontese and bought the Barolo a few days ago (with low expectations). Now I am dreading the tasting. Not thrilled with the quality of other Costco/Kirkland products either. Someone please explain what's the big deal. Thanks.
That Bordeaux is 🔥🔥🔥. Probably the best bottle I’ve had for under $20 and it’s $7
Great review. Please do more like this. The only one I disagree with the Barolo. The ratings are quite good on this and it meets the price point. Got to decant this one for about an hour. Excellent with braised beef or duck pasta
That Bordeaux superieur is probably the best value item I have ever found at Costco, I’ve drank probably a full case at this point and it still just amazes me how they can make it that good for $7
Agree about the Napa Red Blend. Very good for the price.
Nearly all other reviewers loved the borolo!
That Kirkland chard tastes like garbage!!
Barolo should be aerated 6-8 hours before drinking. You should try tasting the Barolo after some aeration.
I want to like this channel but I feel he needs to tone it down a bit. I subscribed though. After watching the rest of the video I am unsubscribing.
Well done. I've tasted almost all of the Kirkland wines that you tested, and my amateur palette liked most of them better than yours did. The Sauvignon Blanc and Malbec are two go-to wines for me.
Great video! I also love champagne and am starting to try A lot more!
What are some of your favorites below the Dom $Perignon price point? $50- $250 maximum.
You are trying to hard to be entertaining. Not authentic.
I like pinot grigio. For a dude who talked about how wine should be fun and accessible, the guns out the gate at the first wine came off pretty gate keeper-ey. I get that Pinot Grigio may be popular with some east coast beachers, but if you have hot weather and eat a fair bit of seafood, it fits. Practice what you preach please
Apparently critical comments are deleted.
Great video! Just found your channel and subscribed. I think it would be interesting to do a Halloween or fall themed wine ranking; Trader Joe’s and target have a small selection of Halloween/fall themed wines.
