  1. The only way to stop your eyes from sweating is by blowing the chemicals out and away from the glands that are reacting. Clear your sinius chamber and the sensations will stop. Also, using the sharpest blade possible will reduce the amount of gas released slightly.

  2. Great, that piece of chive is what I was looking for so I can eat pasta and lose weight 😂 a touch of health goes a long way!

  3. To stop your eyes from watering is to wet a towel and put it beside the onion while cutting so what’s triggering your eyes to water goes to the wet towel because it goes to what ever moisture is close by (I’m really bad at explaining because I don’t know much explaining but I hope you understand!)

  4. Onion tip from someone that actually doesn't even eat onions, sharper knife. A sharper knife splits less particles and releases less gas

  5. Onion cutting tip: hold your breath as you cut. Sure you have to turn around to breathe every handful of seconds, but like, my eyes don't water at all.

  6. YES, Cold air Neutralizes the gases released by onions. Go to your freezer, stick your head in and feel INSTANT relief! I swear by it…..❤

  7. I heard somewhere that if you hold water in your mouth the onion won’t hurt your eyes. I tried it once and it actually worked it was amazing lol

  8. I heard that having a really good sharp knife helps the chemical reaction or sm in the onion so the fumes come out less, or just wear goggles or sm lol

  9. Your never supposed to add cream your only supposed to add eggs, eggs are better than cream, if you want a good sauce always use eggs

  10. For onions if you keep water nearby it will soak it as opposed to your eyes but you will have to change the water typically after a while it changes color it loses its effectiveness at that point

  11. Regarding the onion question, I wear protective googles that fit over my glasses and don’t allow fumes in my eyes. Really helps.

  12. The tip I've always used when cutting an onion is that immediately after unpeelimg it and chopping it in half, run each of them under cold water for a few seconds or minutes (even better if prepping ahead of time, put it in the fridge for an hour or two wrapped in a damp towel). The moisture and cold binds a lot of the acid from the onion from the air

  13. I've read somewhere that chewing gum stops you from crying when shopping onions… maybe that'll help?

  14. Honestly?… Sit down. Or rather, don't have your head directly over the onions as you're cutting.
Broke my ankle a few weeks ago and have been using a wheelchair to get around my apartment (I have a walker, but unfortunately my body Kinda Sucks with standing for prolonged periods), and was cutting up onions while sat down in the chair. Not a single tear was shed!

  15. The only tip I have is from the one year I worked in a restaurant, the onion fumes are targeting the water in your eyes so to counter that, whatever bowl you're gonna put your scraps in anyway just throw some water in there. Never fails.

  16. actually withe the onion, you should turn your face away when you breath in. it‘s not directly about the eyes but the fumes you breath in and therefor your eyes. try it
