I thought I knew korean barbecue, but nothing prepared me for authentic Korean BBQ. From the first bite of bulgogi to chewy japchae noodles, tender galbi short ribs, a crispy seafood pancake, and finally a massive Korean BBQ feast with pork belly, picanha, and all the banchan, this experience showed me the real flavors, tradition, and culture behind Korean food – and it completely blew my mind.

  1. fun fact. Those short ribs, we call it LA Galbi in Korea because it started in LA by Korean immigrants. In korea, we cut the short ribs in a different way but we also enjoy LA galbi in Korea.

  2. Chef Taka owns Takato in Ft. Lauderdale as well, great chef great food !! He never misses !!

  4. surprised that Guga can use Korean thin metal chopsticks…it's a skill not many non-koreans can master

  6. I make Bulgogi and Japchae once a month in my home. Kalbi maybe once every 3 months. I got hooked while being stationed in Korea while in the US Army.

  7. You have been told a lye that Japanese beef is the best Korean Beef is just as good. Too bad we have to pay premium for it in the US.

  9. You should eat ssam in one bite.
There's no such thing as a 'side dish' in Korean cuisine; they're called banchan.

  11. Korean BBQ, IMO, is the only thing that can compete with Texas smoked BBQ. Korean food is da bomb!

  12. Ssam is not a taco. It's important to give up your greed. Make it as small as possible and cover the lettuce completely and put it in one bite. Please, I beg you. Try it like that.

  14. Nice video Guga. You chose some great dishes. Carlito is 100% about trying everything. Korean food is about variety and exploring different flavour combinations.
