I attempted carnivore for 6 months and continued to eat mostly animal based since BUT their was just no one I could sustain the diet myself. In a home of 6 with a carb loving husband, 4 growing kids, it was too expensive to keep up the meat consumption and when I tried to do it myself it was exhausting to cook 2 meals. On top of that I could not eat enough fat. I hate animal fat so primarily ate butter and avocado (i know not carnivore) but it was just too much fat. I did struggle a bit with energy for a solid month but got a rush of energy for a few months after. I also genuinely love bread and fruit, even if infrequently its just an enjoyment that im not willing to let go fully and completely. I do think I higher animal based diet is great but its challenging. I also didnt lose much weight… maybe 7 lbs in 6-8 months. A lot was water weight in my opinion and it was added right back on as soon as I incorporated some carbs back which sucks.
I imagine smoking pot constantly like Rogan does isn't going to work well with carnivore.
Meat only is okay for some of us for a period of time, but some of us don't thrive long term eating this way and find we do better with a small amount of plants. In my case I still after three years have problems with diarrhea when I don't eat any fibre. And the high fat doesn't suit everyone either. It increases insulin for some and then there is lipotoxicity. Humans have never lived on meat and fat only long term. But it is a good healing diet and I believe a mostly meat diet is the proper human diet – with a small amount of plants.
I eat a shit load of butter.
I have been carnivore for almost 2 years and it is the best thing ever..Groceries take 10 minutes. These people didn't listen to guys like Dr. Ken Berry or Dr. Chaffee
I eat 85% meat protein and green vegetables with butter.
Eggs, olive oil, animal, fatty fish, fat, cheese, avocados, macadamia nuts, so I don’t know if I’m actually carnivore maybe I’m more of a keto guy low-carb.
All I know is that all of my markers bio markers have gotten much better on this diet !
And I feel amazing when I eat meat!
Not so good when I introduced Sugar in any form of shape !

Still fighting some inflammation in my joints from being obese most of my life. I lost 125 pounds and kept it off since 2018.
After years of alcohol, abuse smoking, it’s taking a bit to get healthy again that good job of destroying myself !

S as he doesn’t address being fat adapted where you CAN do/burn fat and/or carbs.
People quit because everyone around them sabotage them with crap foods and they get stuck in traveling jobs and try to get anything carnivore in unhealthy small town USA bfe late in the evening when the local grocery stores are all closed, not many choices and motels only put out maybe coffee and sugar filled pastry, should be criminal to destroy people with food
Carbohydrates are great for humans. Most human populations have consumed the majority of their calories from carbs. All the populations renowned for their longevity have been eating diets high(ish) in carbs. East Asians used to eat high-carb (~80 % of kcal) consistently with very little obesity. (Same for Mediterraneans, American Indians for the most part, many others.)
There has never been a single "keto" population in history. Not one. The Eskimos / Inuit are the ones who came closest on their tradition diet. Guess what happened over the centuries? They became genetically selected against going into ketosis. Meaning their bodies rely on carbs from glycogen (found in the muscle meat of animals) and protein (turned into carbs in the body.)
I thought keto was the most unnatural diet ever devised. But "keto carnivore" manages to top it by excluding the plant foods that could at least mitigate the risks and maximizing the problem foods.

Getting off of highly processed food is the healthiest thing you do. I am willing to bet majority of the time, losing weight on eating only meat is because of the reduction of processed food.

I just want to say thanks to Steak and Butter Gal! You helped me on my healing journey, the carnivore diet saved my life. My only issue is struggling with maintaining weight, with an active job and lifestyle. I try eating loads of butter and wake up in the middle of the night with nausea. Anyways adding some organic fruit helps with workouts and stuff. Keep up the good work!!!
I did my blood. Been on carnivore diet for 2 months. My cholesterol is very high, uric acid is high, and creatinine is high. Does this mean my body is not taking carnivore well? I feel better and I lost inflammation almost completely. I don't have my dandruff issue anymore. But my bloods are not good. Please leave a response.

I am of the opinion that the carnivore diet is a recovery diet. It heals the body. It can take years to heal the body. It takes 4years to heal the liver, 7 years to rebuild every cell. We don’t NEED carbs (a healthy liver can produce what we need) but if we heal our gut and metabolism we can tolerate carbs. If faced with famine we can survive on carbs but overtime our function will diminish. What works for you is based on your personal health and function. The exception being someone with a genetic metabolic disorder the interrupts fat/protein utilization.
Nobody is quitting carnivore. Cut the BS. We are doing better than ever!

Why are girls getting their periods so young, & boys becoming sterile, are these 2 things connected. I seriously want to know. As a species, we NEED to know. Is this a red flag that out health/diet is severly out of wack?
The only people I listen to are those who are in their 50s or older and have a zero calcium score. I don't care what your diet is.
FYI….my hubby almost completely quit snoring when he dumped carbs. He snored like a freight train with carbs, now I have to touch him to make sure he is breathing.
