Ciao amici,
Thank you for joining me for this little travel-log to Italy. I already miss it but felt I relived it during the (rather lengthy) editing of this video. I wonder if any of you have visited some of these places? If you have any questions (maybe you have plans to go and wonder about something?), feel free to ask.
I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you so much, Helle, for sharing the video of your trip to Italy – loved it and didn't have to "suffer" the heat and the crowds!
Tak for smukke optagelser i dejlige Italien
Thanks for sharing your trip, it is so lovely to just stroll around and enjoy….with some touristy stuff in between. So many good memories arise from a few years ago. Thank you Helle for spending your time with us.
Thank you for the beautiful video! Loved this so much!
Thanks a lot for sharing ❤
Thank you for sharing your wonderful holiday in Italy. 🇬🇧
Hi Helle!
I'm an Italian girl living in a small town on Lake Maggiore, in northern Italy, where my family and I run a Bed and Breakfast. It was so lovely to see my country featured in one of your videos! I'm also a fellow knitter, and if you ever plan a trip to Lake Maggiore, feel free to reach out—I'd be happy to share suggestions or local tips. 🥰
Thanks for sharing your trip! I've read about Florence so many times in novels, and now I can picture it much better. My daughter and her husband were thinking about going to Rome for their honeymoon last year during the same time period. They were discouraged by a wise friend — too hot, he said. lol! Looks like a lovely time even so.
Beautiful memories you have shared with us. 💐 enjoyed every second. And will watch again. Thank you for sharing. 💐
Oh, those colours of Cinque Terre… They were so vibrant on my screen. I feel I have to go and see them in real life.
Your travel vlogs are always so immensely enjoyable! I haven't been to Florence or Pisa since before 'the plague' struck so it was lovely to see them again. I go for the art and architecture – art is my passion. October or April are wonderful months for Italy (a fellow northern European so cannot cope with the intense heat of summer Haha) Thank you as always for sharing your holiday with us – loved it!. (forgot to say – the music was inspired – thanks for including the list)
This was such an enjoyable video to keep me company on a break… with my knitting and an iced coffee 🙂 I especially enjoyed the places from A Room with a View – I loved that movie!
Loved this! Thanks.
I just loved this video, Helle. Thank you so much for sharing your travels with us. I love seeing the places you have visited and hearing your thoughts and experiences. Your new outfit looks fabulous. I am going to be in Italy next April and am looking forward to all the tiramisu and ice cream and, even better, tiramisu ice cream. x
Thank you so much for sharing your holiday. It brought back wonderful memories of when my late husband and I went to Florence and Pisa. We were there in September and even then it was hot and very busy. We loved it though. You did a wonderful job of capturing everything and the quiet music in the background was perfect. ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you Helle. My husband and I visited Cinque Terre and Florence with friends back in 2013. It was lovely to reminisce through your vlog. At the time, a couple of the villages on the Cinque Terre were closed due to previous floods. We stayed in Riomaggiore and walked to Venazza.
Tusind tak for et vidunderligt afsnit. ❤❤❤
As an italian viewer, I' m really happy that you and your family had a great time here. ❤
Thank you, Helle, for this trip to Italy. My husband and I were in all three towns in 1993, having travelled there from Denmark where we were living for 6 months . We hiked three of the five hill towns in Cinque Terre and our daughter met us inPisa from Canada. It was a wonderful time and we have returned to Italy many times. From Florence we took the local bus up to Fiesole which overlooks Florence. Each time we go there when we’re in Italy. Funny that your vlog reached me today as I just got a birthday greetings from my first Danish friend this morning.
Thank you for your video. Really enjoyed it. I went to Italy two years ago. Went in April, mid month and it was a wonderful time to go. Weather was ideal, no rain, not hot or cold, just perfect. Visitors were reasonable amount. On a tour, went from top to bottom and in between. Loved Italy,
Thank you for this vlog! It reminded me my own trip to Cinque Terre and Florence which I had with my sister 8 years ago. We were there in december and I highly recomend this time of year in Italy 🙂 Weather was fantastic, around 20 deg.
It was so nice to see this places again through your eyes 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your holiday with us. I don’t normally get a summer holiday and so enjoy traveling with you vicariously. You’re a great narrator; a soft voice and not overly chatty, giving us lots of lovely views. I also enjoy seeing what you all eat, even if it’s mediocre. Haha. Hopefully, the hot weather will help you all appreciate your colder northern weather, at least for a little while. 💚🧶
Thank you for sharing with us. This was incredible. I went to Florence in my teens, but I would appreciate it differently in my 40s. All the best, Kimberly
Très agréable ce petit périple en votre compagnie Helle. Merci de nous faire ainsi voyager entre deux tricots 💚
My dear Helle,
Through your video, I relived my April trip to Italy. Just so you know it was already hot in late April. I left wanting to return to explore more of what the Tuscan region has to offer. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Love your recounting of your vacation. We went in 2024 in April and it was very crowded and hot then as well – and I’m saying that as a Texan!
Thank you Helle for taking us along with you to Italy! 🇮🇹 It’s one of the places I would love to visit.. but as you mentioned, definitely not in July!, 😅
Dear Helle, so happy you enjoyed your stay in Italy <3 we've had one of the hottest July ever, so I totally understand what you say about the heat and the shade. I'm half Italian and half Swedish, and, as for the summer and heat, I mostly feel my northern roots. I love watching your videos about traveling and knitting, and the quotes are always so special <3 If you come back to Italy and need any suggestions, feel free to write to me <3 happy creativity <3 Emma
Tiramisu 😍
Lovely Helle! Thank you. My partner and I are traveling to Italy off season at the end of the year. What a treat to see you there
What an outstanding tour you took us on! Perfectly shot and narrated. I really appreciated your insight, wonderful pronunciation and frank honesty. I haven't been myself, so you have shown me a lot of the sights that I would have chosen to see. Your only podcast that I haven't accompanied by knitting. Thanks so much Helle. 🥰
Thank you it was lovely to see Florence again it brought back memories of my trip .❤
Thank you, Helle, for taking us with you to Italy. The tour was an absolute delight, breath-taking views, wonderful architecture and art, and of course delicious ice cream. The only thing I'd have trouble with is the heat so it is just as well I am watching from home in the UK where it is quite warm enough at 28C.
I just got the chance to watch your lovely vlog. You do such a good job, I feel like I don’t need to venture there in the summer time, as you’ve done it for me. 😂 Your morning walk in Florence was amazing! I kept thinking that you’d found the only places that had no tourists. And all the tiramisu! I loved all of it. Thank you for bringing us along.❤
You make the most beautiful films and you voice is so soothing, I loved this, thanks so much.
Thank you once again for taking us along on your journey! I love watching and listening to our tour guide! 🎉❤
Hi Helle, thank you for this lovely visit❤, we went to cinque terra 2 years ago in spring and it was already crowded. We stayed at a rebuild monastery in Portovenere, what is sometimes called the 6 th town of 5 terra and you can catch a boat there taking you to each of the 5 Towns. Thank you of reminding me of ‘room with a view’ I Will take in out of my bookshelf! See you soon on one of your knitting postcasts. Greetings, Sabine
A beautiful video showcasing your lovely scenic holiday in Italy. Very pretty scenery and informative. The icecream looked refreshing and colourful!
Thanks, Helle! Wonderful holiday 🍧🍦💙🤍💚
Many thanks for a gorgeous video of your trip. It awakened so many happy memories of my own travels to both places so many years ago (1978!) when I was young and there were far fewer people. My partner and I had taken our bicycles to Europe and traveled on them (mostly camping) for nearly a year, but in Italy we parked the bikes and took the train. Sweet sweet recollections….
Thank you Helle❣ It was beautiful! 💕😍
❤
What a beautiful vacation. Thanks for sharing.
I had a fantastic trip to Rome, Florence and Cinq Terre a few years ago and it still stands out as one of my favourite trips to Europe. Florence and Pisa were lovely, and Cinq Terre was really just an add-on on the way to my friend's home in Zurich, but it turned out to be my favourite part of the trip. I really wish we'd had more than 36 hours there. We did go in September, so we missed the worst of the heat. Thank you for taking me back to a wonderful holiday.
