I'm a fan of the Familia stores in Palermo. Good prices, good selection, and good prepared food that helps me keep veggies in my diet.
And… Happy Birthday!
I like Eurospin, it's not expensive and you can find everything. I like the biscuits they sell, but also the various vacuum-packed cured meats and cheeses.
Thanks for this great video and you're very nice too
Yeah, some supermarkets of the same chain in an area of few kilometers maybe be pretty different.
Those hair highlights fits you really good.
Asselunga??
Great topic! I love to shop at Eurospin, Carrefour and Despar/Eurospar/Interspar, which are mostly found in the North I believe.
Respectfully I want to say that you do not look british anymore, you look italian now 😊
Buon compleanno, Claire. pure se in ritardo……..
The biggest chain in Italy and most likely the highest quality is definetly Esselunga. The owner and founder of the chain passed away a few years ago. He was the first person to introduce the concept of supermarkets in the mid 50s in Milano a totally new conceptt in Italy but also for Europe (Milano has always been a precursor in Europe) for that time when people still bought loose items in small shops. His name was Bernardo Caprotti. The other historic chain which originally was a department store I believe from before the war but at around the same time as Esselunga added a food supermarket section was Standa. which in its final days was owned by Berlusconi who sold it before entering the political arena.
Scotland has moved on from the 18th Century and doesn’t have Sunday trading rules😉
Happy Birthday and yes WINE !
I would like you do a video about life in Salerno compared to Sicilia.
One thing I have to keep reminding myself when I visit in-laws (in Piemont) is to not pack the receipt away as you often need it to get out of the supermarket!
BTW, wine please 🍷
Love your hairstyle and color. Suits you well. Thanks for sharing valuable information.
We would love a video about wines especially Southern Italy, but we like trying all Italian wine varieties.
🍷😀
i love Esselunga. Thank you for all your honest advice. PS. you look great x
From memory, Crai and Carrefour are in Sardinia x
We love it here in the Salerno region.
However Italian supermarkets reveal why so many Italians think that their region or their food is the best. Not open to anything new. For example there are piles and piles of white pasta but when it come to whole grain, forget it. Same applies to bread. Almost only white. I wonder how their digestion is going. Or actually rather not.
It’s the same with wine. Where is the Cabernet Sauvignon? Or the Merlot? Or the Chardonnay? Or when it comes to coffee, what about arabica instead of only robusta? Or filtered coffee? And where is the organic food section? Or the Asian? (I’m done with only basmati rice.) And where is the vegan section? All these things that are widely available in most of Europe. Sure some supermarkets here might have it, but it’s laughable. Italians can be proud of their culture and rightly so. But why no be open to good things from elsewhere? Would be nice to have a couple of Asian restaurants to eat out instead of only Italian bleached flower food restaurants.
