The Frescobaldi family has been in the winemaking business in Italy since the early 1300’s. Their contribution to the industry is incalculable, and today, with a collection of estates that comprises more than 1200 hectares, they are the largest landowners in Tuscany. James sat down with Marchesi dei Frescobaldi’s chairman and co-owner Lamberto Frescobaldi at his beautiful estate Castello de Nipozzano to discuss the legendary pure merlot Masseto , the identity of Italian wines in the global market, and the recent evolution of the Italian fine wine industry.
