My name is Alexander. I’m the owner of a Michelin starred restaurant called 42, and I’m on a mission – to find inspiration in gastronomy. I love fine dining, good wine and sharing what I know with other people.

  1. Unironically, if you want incredible dining experiences that are relatively inexpensive South Africa should be a destination you explore. FYN, Wolfgat, La Colombe, Belly of the Beast, and so many more. There are countless extraordinary venues in the Western Cape alone and our wine is also very highly regarded. As someone who wrote about wine and dining in the country, I'd love to see what you think about our offering compared to the world's very best.

  2. I wish I had been around to recommend Dieci Boutique in Bulgaria.
    Eastern Europe needs more recognition.
So I’m rooting for the Slovenian place 🙂

  3. Have you ever been in Bali? You sould go they really now what hospitality is and they have some great restaurants 😉

  4. These woke restaurants are fast becoming a bore. I don’t want a sweaty chef putting a plate in front of me. Let him hire proper staff. And who knows what ‘sustainability’ means, except that you’re supposed to have it at your restaurant. As I say, a bore.

  5. Alexander, TBH, I think this is ridiculous. I subscribed to this channel to see you visit the top restaurants in the world. That’s it. I don’t need to participate in anything.

  6. Noni & Inddee where absolutely great restaurants would have loved to see Haoma on the list but ohh well there are so many, only I don't think you are gonna like Etoile the whole menu did not really make much sense and there are a lot of flaws without waiters and a sommelier. But still that is my opinion on that one. In any case curious about the rest of the restaurants!

  7. I must not understand the concept – “giving visibility” to restaurants that have already won Michelin stars and one that even features a chef who’s been on multiple seasons of Top Chef? Feel like they’ve got plenty of eyes on them already…. I thought this was going to highlight unknown spots. This is kind of disappointing.

  8. Although Australia doesn’t have Michelin Stars – our “Good Foods” chef hats are almost the same! We have some fantastic restaurants and food spots in Australia which I would love for you to experience!

  9. You must experience La Tanière 3 in old town Quebec, Canada. They were finally rewarded with 2 Michelin stars this year
