Today I visited Bari Food, a cherished eatery in Chicago that has been serving mouthwatering Italian beef sandwiches since 1973. Founded by Brendan Nemoy’s great-grandfather, the family-run restaurant is known for its homemade approach, including in-house made bread, meatballs, and giardiniera. Brendan shares his personal connection to the food and the community, inviting viewers to appreciate the rich history and flavorful experience of Bari Food.

  1. so he opened up as I was graduating college and I lived at their intersection of Roosevelt and Ashland, which is really down the street from that establishment. I'm headed there this Sunday or Monday.

  2. Holy crap! I went college in Illinois and got a ride to O’Hare Airport from my buddy who was driving home to Chicago. We stopped a Bari Foods and got a sandwich before heading to the airport. It was fantastic. That was more than 25 years ago. I need to go back to Chicago.

  3. Never heard of this place. Chicago is different when it comes to food.. like white and black will show you two different versions of a food tour in the same City. They don’t have the best in the city if someone born n raised never heard of them

  4. Soggy bread is the most unappealing textures imaginable. Up there right next to runny snotty egg whites on sunny side up.

  5. I mean, you might as well eat a steak! They are pretty generous! Wish we had them here!

  6. Its LEGIT the best you can get in Chicago. Born and raised and ive had em all. Always my go to when i visit home

  7. I hate/love this guy so much! I’m fucking poor and eat once every 3 days, I love his content and just wish I could try just ONE of these meals!!! I may struggle as a disabled veteran, but man you’re giving me a dream to visit all these places

  8. If you’re near Chicago you should go to merichkas in joliet for their poor boy sandwich. Best one I’ve ever had, and if you get a side of the house dressing and extra garlic butter it’s the bomb

  9. i will never stop laughing at how small minded new yorkers and chicagoans are. there’s an entire huge country followed by an entire world out there of places to eat but by some miracle new york and chicago apparently have the best everything 😂😂😂😂🤡

  10. Chef wearing shorts is a clear sign they do ALOT of business. It gets hot as hell running around a 100° kitchen even in winter. This place must have the best food around

  11. I can’t stand the way this guys I butchering Bari. That’s where my family is from in Italy and dam Americans really do butcher everything Italian

  12. I’m not going anywhere close to that left wing controlled city just to eat a sandwich or pizza. Maybe after Trump sends in the troops and cleans up the streets…it could be safe enough to enjoy.
