In today’s video, we had a suggestion to eat at Franco’s Italian Restaurant in Ocala, Florida. We have never been before and so we decided to stop in. There was a little bit of a wait at first but this allowed us to see the desserts! They had some amazing desserts. Once we were seated, we showed the menu which featured a variety of items. We didn’t try pizza this time but will have to sometime. We tried several different things including their bread, salads, Pasta É Fagioli, Manicotti, Italian Baked Combo, and the Eggplant Rollatini. All was good but the portion sizes were big! There was so much food. We were stuffed. However, we had to try the dessert which we tried the Limoncello Tiramisu and the regular Tiramisu. Both were good but the regular one won. Our waitress was great and we got a discount by tagging them in a post! Thank you for the suggestion on some good Italian food at Franco’s!

    I live near there. It is fairly new. They almost had to remove the iconic sign because of its location. But with a lot of protests, it remained there. They do BOGO on carry out pizzas. That’s why they are so busy. The food looks great. I have had only pizza from there. The desserts look wonderful. I’m probably one of the few people who doesn’t like coffee, therefore I have no interest in tiramisu.

    Yet ANOTHER great review! Id like ti recommend Egg City Diner in Haines City for you and parents! The portions are HUGE! The 4 egg omelets and their Ruben are AMAZING! Deserts are great too but youll fill up on meal though. It is a traditional diner and closes at 2 though! Give it a try!

    That sign is my favorite sign in Ocala. It’s been there since 1978, I think. Growing up, my Aunt Jeannie’s salon was in that shopping center, and we often walked down to Lorito’s for a slice of pizza (though Abio’s-now closed-was always my favorite). Got to try Franco’s last month, as it was where my family wanted to go after Dad’s funeral. Solid. Their Zuppa 7 Seas was really good. Pizza ok, but not my fav. I did my doctorate in Rome and learned Italian. fah-jee-OH-lee.

    The reason the pizzas were leaving the place so quick, is their to go pizzas are BOGO!
    You missed the best salad dressing, their citrus vinaigrette is really good.
    First time I had a meal there, ordered the veal parm. It was pretty good, but the spaghetti it was sitting on was COLD! They replaced the spaghetti, but still was a real interruption to my meal. Their pizzas are good, but Formaggio’s are better. Especially their meatball marinara pizza.
    You still need to go to the best Italian restaurant, Mesa de Notte!!!

    Long time Ocala resident, I grew up about a mile away. Lorito's was the place to get good pizza and they had the best garlic knots in town. I used to take my family there and my younger kids always wanted the garlic knots. It was a tradition and certainly STINKIN GOOD. I haven't been to Franco's but I would get the garlic knots to compare.
