It has taken us 8 years to design! Our special edition 3D gift box opens to reveal the remarkable story of Abélard and Héloïse, alongside exquisite illustrations. The box can be personalised and makes a perfect gift at Valentine’s Day, or any other romantic occasion, filled our flagship wines Abélard and Héloïse, whose story epitomises passion and enduring love.
The gift box was designed by the winery’s Principal, Nicole Rolet, together with our amazing graphic designer Claire Middleton, and was inspired by a traditional Italian story-telling “Teatrino” mini-theatre, and the much-loved pop-up book. There is a secret drawer that can be filled with a further keepsake or love letter, and it can be lit from the interior. Every facet of the gift box is illustrated by woodcut artist Jane Randfield with whimsical Medieval-meets-Modern iconography. Hidden rabbits nod to the complex ecosystem that surrounds the winery, and our majestic blue oak tree is illustrated on the front.
