Barolo wine from Piemonte Italy is a contradiction. Made from the Nebbiolo grape, it is highly tannic and acidic, and ages in reverse. There is the difference between barolo vs barbaresco (acdoring to wine folley), and differences between traditional Barolo Wine (like the Massolino 2015 Riserva in this video) and modernist Barolo Wine (like Elio Altare). You can definitely tell the difference between the two styles in Barolo wine tasting.
Barolo is a fine Italian red wine, and some of the best Barolos can for over $1000.00 per bottle. Barolo is not a grape, it is an Italian wine region, with many fine Barolo producers and winemakers. All Nebbiolo wines are not Barolo, but all Barolo wines are made from the Nebbiolo grape. Other Nebbiolo Italian wine regions are Barbaresco, Langhe, Roero, and Carema. But Barolo is the undisputed KING of Wines.

Tar, red fruits, nail polish remover, God forbid if it tastes like grapes.
