✅ Here’s the exact list I share with friends visiting Venice (my free guide): https://bit.ly/Venice-Guide-Camden
☕️ Every Tuesday, I share a travel tip you’ll actually use — like advice from a friend who travels nonstop — https://bit.ly/TheTuesdayTravelTip

This is everything I wish I knew before visiting Venice, Italy. Think of this video as a travel guide filled with top recommendations and tips you’ll actually use on your trip. I spent a full month exploring Italy and this is everything you’ll need to know before your trip to Venice. I hope it helps 🙂

Resources I mentioned:

🔥The eSIM I used to keep my phone working in Italy — https://airalo.pxf.io/CamdenDavid — You can get 15% off by using code: CAMDEN15

Please note — This video includes a paid promotion with Airalo. I’ve decided to partner with them after trying most eSIMs on the market. I think these guys have the most user friendly platform, and it’s the service I choose to use over 300 days every year 🙂

🛄 An airline “lost” my bag—I told them exactly where it was. I never travel without these — https://amzn.to/3CmNCpD

Partnership disclosure — I received a small discount from the Airbnb host in exchange for providing an honest review of the home (assuming it was a place I’d actually recommend — and it was).

  1. You mentioned the Opera House!!!! Yay!! i stumbled across this in my research and I wondered why no Youtube Venice guides had mentioned it. It looks amazing!! Did you do a little tour of it or watch a show?

  2. Hey Camden, I missed your newsletter tip about finding accommodation on Airbnb but booking direct. Can I find this elsewhere?

  3. For Tip number 2: Avoid the stairs and the people offering to help you. Take a water taxi if your staying past Rialto Bridge

  4. I enjoyed a day trip to the small island of Torchello. It’s beautiful and so peaceful and quiet. A nice break from the crowds on the main islands.

  5. Hi, my wife and I will be arriving in Venice from London at midnight (12:00 PM). We’ll be carrying two large suitcases and two carry-on bags.

We’re planning to take a water taxi to enter Venice. We understand that usually each person is allowed only one piece of luggage. Could you please advise what options are available if we have additional bags? Is there an extra charge?

Also good recommendation hotel will appreciated

    Thank you!

  6. Have been to Venice recently, my points:
    – architecture and lack of cars, it's a really nice experience try to go once in your life
    – very expensive at least the main island, we stayed at another island called Lido much cheaper
    – food is average or some places slightly above average but not a food destination definitely
    – biggest disappointment for me behaviour of some locals. They're almost as if they don't want tourists! They may push out of the way when boarding the boats, one old lady even asked me to leave a priority seat on the boat where I sat my 5 year old boy as it wss super busy. Horrible behaviour from some people who ruin the experience.
    – hotels expensive as I said and a lot may feel very old and dated due to the architecture
    – not super friendly if you're with kids not so many things to do, I'd say best for couples.
    – can get very busy especially at main tourist attractions but even taking the side alley to avoid crowds can feel very quiet

  7. I was in Libreria Aqua Alta on Friday (9th May) and it wasn’t as crowded as it could be, no line. They have a huge fat ginger tom cat who is worth seeing, he’s gorgeous and so huge 😊

  8. Ma pensa è come se io mi lamentarsi che al Super Bowl c 'ere troppa gente,se vai in alta stagione in una città come Venezia o Roma per forza trovi troppa gente e tutto è caro.

  9. Thank you so much h for your tips. They were extremely useful and practical. We are on the train now heading back from Venice to our home on Austra. We stayed at Palazzo Morosini on your recommendation. It was beautiful, clean and located perfectly for us. La Zucca restorante was super. Delicious food and friendly owners. So much so that we ate there on 2 nights. Unfortunately, La Cotiva was closed when we were there and fully booked the other nights. Majer was excellent for breakfast as 2 minutes walk from Palazzo Morosini. Thanks again for your recommendations and tips. 😊

  10. I found that most of the time, Italy as a whole, felt a lot like Bangladesh. Italy imports tens of thousands of Bangladeshis on some kind of work program setup between the two countries. Even 'authentic' italian restaurants were staffed with Indians, Bangladeshis, cooking food and serving. All of the little shops were staffed only by Bangladeshis. From Rome to Venice, felt a lot like india.

  11. I went it was packed. We got ripped off at a few places. We agreed on a price with the gondolier. But we got in, he started rowing, and then he said price was higher. He didn’t know I speak some Italian, so we had “discussion “ and he changed price. The lagoon was filthy with floating garbage and rats. We went back to Florence on an earlier train I’m done with Venice

  12. Living in Venice, I would also recommend visiting the museum "La Biennale di Venezia", an art exhibition that takes place every year in Venice and is divided into two sections: the Art Biennale and the Architecture Biennale, which welcome works from all over the world, from sculpture to painting, but also music, cinema, theater and dance. It is very important to remember that the Art Biennale takes place in odd years, such as 2023 or 2025, while the Architecture Biennale takes place in even years, such as 2024 or 2026.
And it is also very cheap since the entrance ticket costs only 8.50 EURO

P.S. I highly recommend the Art Biennale.

  14. new to channel love the content, can i pay using a credit card or do they charge fees? or is it better to have euro or us dollar? i have access to all three checking which is best

  15. Why not stay in Messtre and just go over for the day? Leave your luggage in Messtre and go over and get out!🤔

  16. We are going next week from Austria but the place sounds like a headache. Tourist tax? Messetre crime? One ABNB owner says by law he cannot lower his air conditioning lower than 78 degrees. Too many immigrants? Too many tourists? We have train tickets but Austria and Switzerland although expensive seem better for tourists as is Poland, Estonia and the north Nordic countries?🤔I dunno? Gonna find out? I guess the weight of all these tourists is sinking the place and who needs tourists they just dump a lot of money into a local economy I guess?😂😂😂😂😂😂
