Hilarious that you're making a poison mushroom dish after what's happened in Australia
Honey really was the like only way to make food sweet back then crazy. Cuz today honey isn’t even in the like top 5 ways to make something sweet.
You wonder how Nero got to be the way he was and then you read about his mother and everything clicks into place
Neros mother was a lunatic just like him. The story is as old as humans, great men being destroyed by women.
And sad that because of this very dish and first attempt assassination Rome and the rest of the world suffered an emperor who castrated and demeaned a boy into becoming a woman and later fled and hid like a coward as he knew his actions and mindset were destroying their home.
Deep conspiracy theorists have surmised that portabella mushrooms can be extremely toxic if not cooked a rediculously long time. I still have no idea if it's true or not, but I have noticed it is nearly impossible to overcook them, and that makes me a bit nervous, personally.
Loving your content.. even more since im not a fan of mushrooms either. .it really is a texture thing 🤓
Finally, a dish to die for
Ahhh Nero 🔥
Ive been making honey glazed mushrooms for years and never knew it was a thing. I just try honey with everything at least once. Mac n cheese with honey goes really good together
Lol Neros neck beard having ass
Nero with that ATROCIOUS cut
Ancient Romans and even ancient Greeks loved honey glazed everything. I’m one of those people I cannot at all eat meat and fruit flavours together anything that is meat and has some kind of sweetener forget it when it’s meat I need it to be savoury. I can eat chicken salad with strawberries I can’t even have cranberrieswell no that’s wrong. I can eat cranberries on my plate Thanksgiving dinner or whatever as long as they’re not next to the turkey that’s the only time any other time I don’t like sweet-and-sour anything I like savoury mostly savoury sauces with meats and potatoes.
I learned Nero had a neck beard, why am I not surprised
This dish missed the opportunity to use the name “Emperor’s Last Breath” or “Emperor’s Last Bite” or “Emperor Slayer” etc…
Long pepper?
Ooh I love mushrooms. Gonna have to legitimately try this. I'll have to substitute a few things but I think I can get it down well enough.
Yummy
Fun fact: NERO killed his pregnant wife then forced a BOY that resembled her to take her place.
I love how baby Nero actually looks adorable, while grown Nero looks like the definition of an incel. Neckbeard personified
Imagine how different the timeline would be if Nero wasn't the son that took power
Ohh…. So nero was the one who castrated a poor boy who looked like his wife after his wife died…. Romans were progressive but extremely fucked up… Then again everyone from the eastern hemisphere's history seems to have either skeletons in their closet or children in their dungeon
Somone likely slipped aminitas in there
And Nero sucked
I don't like cooked mushrooms, but I LOVE raw mushrooms.
