What is Disney’s new home port in Fort Lauderdale like? What’s it like flying into Miami with Virgin Atlantic? How can you upgrade your stateroom at the terminal? All of these questions and more I aim to answer in this two part vlog series for you.

The journey begins at London Heathrow Airport, where I fly with Virgin Atlantic in their brand-new Retreat Suite — part of Upper Class but with a larger seat. I walk you through the Clubhouse lounge experience, show you around the Retreat Suite, and highlight the dining, amenities, and inflight service during the flight to Miami International Airport. I explain how I booked the ticket using Virgin Points and an upgrade voucher, and offer insights into who the Retreat Suite might be best suited for. Upon arrival in Miami, I travel to Fort Lauderdale and stay overnight at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, where I give a quick room tour and share thoughts on the hotel’s location and convenience for pre-cruise stays.

The next morning, it’s time to head to Port Everglades, where the Disney Dream is sailing out of for this four-night itinerary. I walk you through the entire embarkation process, including how to upgrade your stateroom after check-in. Here, I managed to go from a guaranteed verandah rate to a Cocierge one bedroom suits. As a Concierge Guest, I explore the Concierge Lounge, show the Concierge Sundeck, and give a full room tour of my Concierge One Bedroom with Verandah on Deck 11. I share what’s included with Concierge, including priority boarding, upgraded toiletries, the in-room welcome gifts, and access to exclusive areas onboard.

Throughout the day, I share the feeling of being back on the Disney Dream, show you around some key public areas, and talk through how the experience compares to previous cruises. From relaxing on the verandah to a sit-down lunch, the embarkation day vlog sets the scene for a cruise filled with exciting new experience, inclusing Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in Part 2.

As the ship prepares to depart, I take in the atmosphere from the upper decks and capture the magical moment we sail away from Fort Lauderdale. The evening continues with the first night of the rotational dining schedule, however, I show you what it’s like to have main-room dining in your stateroom. A perk reserved for guests staying in one-bedroom suites and higher.
