1.3 million hectoliters of wine — that is how much was exported from Germany in 2012 — adding up to a value of 321 million euros. And one thing is striking: wine importing countries are increasingly buying high quality wines; the average price of exported wines grew by 8 percent. Almost 80 percent of the exported bottles were quality wines. And the international trade fair ProWein in Düsseldorf also showed: the visitors were looking for the best quality.
