Messi linked up with award-winning MM Winemakers to launch the GOAT 10 Lionel Collection, with a bottle of his premium Sicily Syrah or Puglia Primitivo reds costing £53. SunSport had grape expectations as we put it through its paces to see whether it has that shirazmattaz worthy of a Ballon P’Our.
SunSport headed to WSET School London – one of the UK’s leading wine schools – and drafted in top ref, Principal Richard Harding, to provide some much-needed expertise.
But to level the playing field for a blind taste test, we sourced some fellow footballing greats’ grapes who have skin in the game with wines from Andres Iniesta, David Ginola, David Silva and Andrea Pirlo.
