The most brutal front in human history.
This is the full, unflinching story of the Eastern Front in World War II — the largest, bloodiest, and most decisive theater of the war. From the staggering scale of Operation Barbarossa, to the frozen trenches outside Moscow, the urban hell of Stalingrad, the tank duels of Kursk, the river crossings of the Dnieper, and finally, the apocalyptic last stand in Berlin — this documentary breaks down the 18 key battles and campaigns that shaped the fate of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.

That almost sounds like one of the Thin red line soundtracks in the background
The Eastern Front was the most brutal and decisive theater of WWII, where millions of lives were lost in battles of unimaginable scale. Seeing every battle laid out chronologically truly shows the relentless and devastating nature of this front.
Germans were not strategic… another way to say not smart and agile. Accusing the weather is pathetic … don’t know why this nonsense is being repeated
I’ve been looking for a video like this for a long time ! I love the eastern front however so much content is on the battles of Moscow , Stalingrad , & Kursk – I wanted to learn much about the lesser known engagements !!
Another amazing listen. Really helps my perspective
The narrator was right about "no warning" relating to Barbarossa but that's not the worst thing. The worst thing was the war began without a prior period of sharpening relations. No quarrels, no demand, total diplomatic silence. And that was new for Europe. The Nazi attack on Poland began only after Hitler's demands about "Polish Corridor" which quickly unfolded into 1.5 months drama. Fall Gelb started unexpectedly for the French but they couldn't blame anyone – they had already been in the state of war with Germany. They ceased strategic initiative to the Nazis voluntarily and paid dearly for that. Only Japan's attacks on China were like Barbarossa but the Japanese actually never called them "war" – they named them "a series of incidents". Invading another country without any demands and quarrels was absolutely new and that's why today's Russian government is very nervous about NATO.
As for repeated warnings. You may separate "warnings" into two groups. First, British "warnings". Stalin really didn't give a sh*t for them because 1. Britain and France torpedoed the tripartite talks in Moscow in 1939 on stopping Hitler. These talks lasted for 8 (eight!!!) months and produced no results whatsoever. Nothing. Null. Zilch. The fact that in the end Britain remained alone can be blamed only on the British. And Stalin thought that the British just want to drag Russia into the war because being single sucks. And 2. then there was Churchill. Oh, yeah, war hero blablabla. But before the war Churchill was known in Russia as the main instigator of the failed British intervention into Soviet Russia after the Revolution. Of course, British elites didn't like Bolsheviks. Strange people in strange clothes without any upbringing not capable to hold spoons, forks and knives at aristocratic dinner. But unlike the French Britain didn't lose much because of Bolsheviks. France gave huge credits to Czar Nikolas and lost them. British – no. So why Churchill showed such fervor in fighting Bolsheviks- it was strange. So Churchill definitely wasn't a man to trust. Second, inner warnings from intelligence services. Here were huge problems with intelligence because of the purges and the main problem was there was virtually no decent analytical branch. Stalin got just raw messages without any analysis. And the Führer delayed Barbarossa several times – five, if I know correctly. So this story with "warnings" reminds the story with a boy and a wolf. After the boy shouted "wolf" several times no one believed him.
A solid work, but a lot of important battles were left out. I think a series of videos dedicated to different periods of Great Patriotic War would've allowed for more thorough covering of events.
600,000 motor vehicles? Is that true?
absolutely brilliant video, coming from a student of the eastern front.
So many great battles in the Eastern Front, yet most mainstream WW2 shooter games like CoD even till today failed to cover more than a quarter of just those in this video, always stuck with Stalingrad, Seelow, Berlin etc
Amazing pronaunciation of Bialystok. Well done!
I know it's impossible, but if the germans didn't have to ransack any scrap of food, or provision that they could find, I don't think there would have been as many partisans, initially, a lot of the russian citizens were pro German
Is this plagiarized word for word from a TIK video?
CORRECTION:
THE SOVIETS INVADED/CONQUERED POLAND, NOT LIBERATED
It's not "the Eastern Front", it's Russia's Western Front!
Pls DO NOT DEFORM non-English names. Not BAGREJSHN, but BAGRATION https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyotr_Bagration 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
This is not every battle on the eastern front. You have listed about 18 battles however there where hundreds of battles between germany and soviet union. I hate it when some youtuber makes false statements about history because others are watching and it might influence them with your lies.
So many great German men died in this battle man so sad
Awesome stuff my friend! Cheers
Well done. Good review
30k views for a high quality 1 hour 30 minute video with 0 ai content is wild. I hate this timeline.
4 million casualties in 4 months is horrifying to hear
Great job showing the role of Axis allies like Romania, Hungary, and Finland – it wasn’t just Germany vs. USSR.
No maps.
Every battle?
Don't think so.
Battle of Uman, July 25th – August 8th 1941.
