Like most people, when we arrive in Naples we have one thing on our mind: PIZZA!

However, on our most recent trip to Napoli, we decided to try some food that’s a little more… adventurous. Check out this week’s video to learn about some lesser-known Neapolitan foods that perhaps deserve a little more attention (if you’re brave enough to try them 😉)

  1. It's alwasy such a history trip to hear anyone mention spending lire in Italy…. they were still in effect in my 4 years there.
Sorbillo might be super hyped, but its also massively compromised as a true pizzeria. Stick to somewhere like Da Michele.

  2. When I was in Spain years ago we had chancetes (sp), small fried fish like that. They looked like French fries with little black eyes. And they were delicious. But I heard that they were no longer available because of overfishing. 😢

  3. Pineapple pizza. No! No! No!
That's a crime against both pineapple AND pizza.
Shame on you to make baby Jesus cry with that abomination.
Everything else, I'm on board with in a major way.

  4. Pineapple and ham on pizza, called a tropical pizza or Hawaiian pizza in South Africa has been available for years and very popular. Once frowned upon but made famous on social media.

  5. eating just pizza for dinner is not my idea of a meal, a whole pineapple pizza sounds like a very depressing way to finish the day

  6. Oramai nessun napoletano va piú da sorbillo è l'ombra di se stesso, solo turisti italiani e stranieri in quel locale, ma cosí come su tutta via dei tribunali.

  7. We were just there a few days ago, on vacation. We walked by, saw the tripe and said, “wow Eva would love that!”

  8. Aloha you two! When the Italian sunshine hits Eva's hair and her natural auburn highlights glow…. I swoon! Mahalo for another amazing and tasty video!

  9. Loving your Italy videos. So happy you guys aren’t living here anymore, my lovely California is beset ❤😢

  10. It may be adventurous for those Americans; in Central Europe it's common to eat the whole animal – though the pets with their cans cut down the supply of the most delicious parts. 😞

  11. Da me si chiamano sardoni fritti … 4 giorni fa ne ho mangiati un kilo … anche per me sono il top

  12. I’ll withhold comment about the entrails – I’ve learned never to say never, But some thing’s maybe not. Pineapples are okay, though, but might be more useful on something besides a pizza – a “french” Martini with pineapple juice, vodka and a smidge of chambord is wonderful 🍸. Try one after a pizza…

  13. I don't get all the hate that pineapple on pizza gets. To me, it seems very dumb. If you like al pastor tacos, that's crazy flavorful pork served with a couple of slices of grilled pineapple. Sweet with spicy, meaty flavors, not controversial. But I'm not surprised Eva didn't like that particular pizza. She's very discerning about food combinations and what ingredients will work well together. The pineapple had nothing to balance it. The ingredients just seemed like a lot of mild and sweet flavors.

Loved the food recommendations. My dad taught me how to enjoy dishes made with offal and I've always loved anchovies, sardines, mackrel, herring and other canned small fish. I'm so happy for you both that you've been able to move back close to Eva's family, to work on projects in the community that light up your hearts. Congratulations. Can't wait to see what else you create!
