Today, we’re taking a day trip from Venice to Burano, one of the most colorful islands in Italy, and exploring how to spend the perfect 48 hours in Venice! If you’re undecided about visiting Murano or Burano, I highly recommend Burano. In Burano, you’ll find a charming, colorful village with the best food in Venice. Burano is famous for its colorful houses and risotto. The houses in Burano are colorful for the fishermen to find their home in the fog after returning from fishing.

Hi how much did the round trip cost you ?
While the risotto at Al Getto Nero is one of the best things I've ever eaten I can tell you it is NOT made with béchamel sauce, how do I know? We were invited into the kitchen to watch the chef make an order. The risotto is made with a unique fish stock made from the gobby fish from the lagoon and nothing else. Yes it is amazing risotto, just not made with bechamel.
I loved this island! The lace museum was amazing. To see the artwork that women made out of thread touched my heart. . .
