The cost of renovating a house in Italy is explained in this video. Ground works for septic tanks and piping plus foundations for the outside kitchen and pizza oven are ordered.

Learning Italian is challenging but essencial in rural Italy, expecially where I am in Le Marche. I am finding the language barrier difficult at times but slow progress is being made. Speak to construction companies over the phone for the first, succesful, time felt like an achievement.

Le Marche in Italy is beautiful at this time of the year. The temperature is perfect to get a lot of work done on the house and land without feeling too hot.

  1. Great channel Richard, I caught up on all the videos after a work colleague told me about you. I’m a DIY’er who happens to love Italy so all the content is spot on. Absolutely howling at the nose / eyebrow comments, thought you handled that like a true gent, humour is spot on also. Keep going, you have certainly opened my eyes to some lovely parts of Italy. All the best from sunny Somerset (uk) 😊

  2. At some point in the next few years, I plan to be moving to Italy (retirement). May only be part time, but we'll be there. And I hope to meet you at some point. I really enjoy your episodes, and wish I could be around to help you out. Re: learning italian, if you've not checked it out, look on YouTube, Language Transfer. Even a Texas hillbilly like me is learning! Ha!

  3. You’ll have to live there full time. Animals best for grazing the grass. Strim it all down first. Clear later. When the grass is dried up from the sun, it’s lighter to move away. Or can u keep it in bunches then set it on fire so u dont have to take it away to dispose in another area?

  4. lol I just popped a breaker trying to cook TATER TOTS in my air fryer and I had to go to my backyard to flip the breaker back and to my SHOCK my yard had things growing in it as tall as me and then I came in and pressed play on your video about tall grass.

As a single woman with no gear or fools I was horrified. Lmao

  5. You could throw down lots of yellow rattle seed. It’s commonly used to suppress grasslands as it’s parasitic to grass.

It’s a technic often used to help establish wildflower meadows.

  6. Don't get disheartened by the growth…this has been an unusual weather year…in Puglia i have been cutting so many times more than other years…and i believe Andrew (Rustic Crow) in Portugal complained about the same thing… absolutely love the Sterwin prosucts…great videos…

  7. I remember when I lived in France and I spoke French for the first time alone on the phone, or at the shops, or just with a neighbour. They're special moments, watching you enjoy them reminds me of the feeling of accomplishment I felt. Keep up the good work.

  8. You might want to look into planting clover instead of grass. Many varieties only grow about four inches high, so no need to cut it and it will stop erosion on the berms.

  9. Tip for your weed eater: they sell steel "grass blades" with three long blades or sort of multipurpose blades with four or so cutting edges that work MUCH better on tall grass and small brush. Both can be sharpened with a file or a grinder. The toothed blade you're using is meant primarily for stuff larger than your thumb or thereabouts.

  10. Ciao Richard, bentornato. Vedrai che piano piano imparerai a parlare correntemente la lingua italiana. Senza fretta, con i tuoi tempi. Ti mando vibrazioni positive e ti auguro buon lavoro.👋🍀🍀

  11. here in the US farmers are renting out goats with temporary fencing to clean up grassy areas, a day and they eat up the grass and brambles, that may be a way to clean up the worst, and now there are robot lawn mowers being used , for lawns like yours

  12. Hello Richard. I believe the answer to the vegetation growth is Goats. I’m sure they would be more than happy to do that job. You’re doing a great job including the videos.

  13. Ignore those people, Italians are like that, if your not well groomed dressed neatly, they frown upon you. Australia the place for you to be mate, you go visit a doctor here with thongs, unshaven, torn clothes and no one bats an eyelid, true freedom mate. Plenty of sunshine here to mate.
