Factors such as acidity, tannins, alcohol content, and oak aging play a crucial role in determining a white wine’s so called “structure”. This is the wine’s backbone, the bigger the backbone, the longer the aging potential.
Most white wines are designed and intended to be consumed relatively young and fresh to preserve their vibrant fruit flavors and freshness. Some though can age and will develop amazing profiles and nuances that only time can create.
