  1. He has just being named as pope and I already feel he has a special place in my heart, God bless him and give him strength and wisdom for the brave work he just accept.

  2. Like our dear Pope Johannes XXIII (1958-1963) he talked about PEACE, the first and most important thing for humanity. Without peace nothing can be built.

  3. Can I just say… I think CBS did a fantastic job today with their coverage. They embraced this for what it is… a joyous moment for over a billion catholics and an important and hopeful one for every person of any faith or lack thereof in the world. They were upbeat and positive and not constantly challenging the Church, the Cardinals, or our new Pope… they did it right and let it be joyous. Norah and Maurice did this right.

  4. Undoubtedly the most magical moment of 2025!
May God Bless you always Pope Leo XIV, we love you.
    🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️.

  5. I pray that he can lead the Catholics into a new era and follow the amazing work that Pope Francis started, I'm not crazy about all his family coming out to the media it gives me the impression that they look for the attention, I don't recall Pope Francis' family ever standing in front of a camera the entire time he was Pope.

  6. I was at work in a public school in the USA, but I paused and watched his speech. I was teary-eyed. My coteachers, who are former Catholics, are proud that he is American, but Ile to bring these people back to the prayed that our pope will be ab Catholic church.

  7. Proud as Peruvian nationalized American he lived in Perú 40 years selected as a bishop in Peru by Francisco. Being catholic believe in Jesus and Virgin Mary!

  8. Just a reminder: Pope Francis was also an American pope — from South America. Pope Leo XIV is the first pope from the United States, not the first American one. Words matter.

  9. He is NOT the first American Pope. He is the 2nd American Pope AFTER Francis. The American CONTINENT includes Argentina. It is more correct to say he is the First Pope from the USA. The USA does NOT have a Monopoly on the word "America". The Idiots & Morons who lack Geography & History will continue to say he is the first American Pope.

  10. Welcoming everyone does not mean allowing illegal immigration that will bankrupt a country and endanger its citizens. May he be a good and holy pope and truly Catholic.

  11. This is history in the making. The first Pope born in the USA, with English as his first language. He appears to be a very humble, saintly man. The fact that as a 6 year old, a neighbour told him that he would Pope one day says it all. He was destined for this job at birth. God has Blessed America!

  12. And once again Americans make this about them and not what it is to become the pope. He is our papa now and don’t americanise this, we have enough trouble in the world associated with the USA, don’t put our papa in this category!!

  13. This conclave, CBS had the best live coverage. Some networks struggled to identify the winning cardinal and the name he took.

  14. I hate how they still repeat "pope of the Roman Catholic Church…" when Leo XIV is actually the pope of all Catholic churches.

  15. I waa there right at tbe front. One of the greatest days of my life. I actualy didnt realise he was nearly in tears. Very humble gtounded man entrusted with a huge responsibility. Sure he'll make a great Pope. God bless Pope Leo.

  16. Great job Nora, and I am not a fan – I watched many broadcasts on replay and you were the most sincerely captivated.

  17. Despite being an atheist, I remember being in class and one of my friends said a new pope was elected and I watched it live on my computer at school and seeing it made me extremely happy. There's something about the fact that this has been happening for thousands of years and being able to witness history that makes it so special
