Born from Professor Flavio Franceschet’s 1993 discovery of forgotten vineyards across Venice’s lagoon, Laguna nel Bicchiere (“Lagoon in a Glass”) began as a hands-on educational project with his middle school students Laguna nel Bicchiere | Urbanvineyards. By 2008, after finding abandoned vineyards at Hotel Cipriani and the Franciscan convent on San Michele Island Our History – Laguna nel bicchiere, it evolved into a formal non-profit with a clear mission: to recover Venice’s forgotten viticultural heritage, preserve ancient winemaking traditions, and protect the unique lagoon landscape Laguna nel Bicchiere | Urbanvineyards. Today, they produce natural wines from vineyards on San Michele, Sant’Elena, and Giudecca The Vineyards – Laguna nel bicchiere that capture the distinctive character of the Venetian terroir.Videos about winemakers and wine.
