At Enoteca Maria/Nonnas of the World, every day a different grandma, or nonna, does the cooking. Today Nonna Kathy is serving up traditional Uzbeki cuisine, including lagman noodle stew and manti dumplings. 90 year-old Nonna Maria is running front of the house, where she oversees the Italian portion of the menu. The man behind the operation is Jody Scaravella, who came up with the idea 18 years ago while mourning the loss of several women in his family. Rotating grandmas cooking up regional specialities all under one roof. The idea started with Italian grandmas and has since expanded into grandmas from all over the world. Now, Vince Vaughn is portraying Jody in a newly released Netflix film called “Nonnas.”

  1. You’re either buying $XAI62K or watching from the sidelines. Both XRP and $XAI62K will create generational wealth 🔮

  2. massive respect for working 25 years in the train yard, this guy is as real as it gets, cant think of another restaurant more deserving of its success

  3. I live in Texas! I want to take a trip just to eat here! I miss my Granny so much, I think I need to hug your Nonas! ❤ just beautiful!

  4. Mmm…so good and so many exotic eyes candy for the viewer.
One day-I'll visit this place to enjoy the ahh.

  5. I would love to someday visit Staten Island and Enoteca Maria. I envy people who are able to enjoy time with their grandparents (both of my grandfathers died before I was born and only my mom's mom came to the US). I'll also try to check out the Netflix movie.

  6. What a beautiful way to transmute pain. Turning that love he felt into love that everyone can be a part of, all while getting their bellies filled!!! Food is love and this community is such a great example of universal love, i'm so happy for them all🥲🥲🥰

  7. Looking forward to visiting next time I’m in town … what a blessing .. and true Love & cuisine… God bless the Nonnas ❤️🙏

  8. I watched this on Netflix what a touching movie at the end I feel hungry with all the Nonnas cooking love it❤❤❤

  9. Jody, I think what you did–what your doing is Brilliant. I myself was pretty much raised by my Grandmother ( mom was present but not really participating ) and I thank God everyday for my Grandma. She still had her 2 youngest sons @ home when she took My Mom myself and my brother in. Grandma working as a waitress and with 6 mouths to feed was absolutley a hardship for her, however she could make the most delicious meals out of almost nothing and her meals are the ones I miss the most ! God Bless YOU for what your doing for the Grandmothers and those of us who were blessed to have our Grandmothers… a quickie : I'm soon to be 67

  10. Here after the Nonnas movie. I love that it’s an actual story.

I’m From the pacific island Samoa, and the same thing applies …there truly is nothing that tops my grandmothers cooking. She thinks it’s whatever/easy, nothing special lol But she literally made me something from a can one day and it was still so good. 😆 Nothing like a grandmas hand in the kitchen!❤❤❤❤Shoutout to all the Nonnas
