NEW SEASON: ITALY
POV Amalfi Coast and Atrani. A real take without the travel vlogger hype. This is the video I wish I had seen before going.
I first had seen the movie “The Talented Mr. Ripley” with Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow when I was 18 years old and it blew me away, altering my mind to the possibilities of the natural beauty, architecture and rich culture that was out there in the world to go see.
Remember this is before the major social media sites really came online, a world without any travel vloggers or seeing these places flash in front of your screen. So the movie really stood out and the story was so well written. I’ll confess, it was one of my major inspirations to start traveling.
Seeing the turquoise waters of the Amalfi coast, the immense rainbow of colors of the buildings, streets and flowers built into the scenery, the Italian lifestyle of sipping espresso at cafes and eating delicious fresh Mediterranean food, bouncing around to the most historic cities in the world like Rome, Paris, Palermo (Sicily) and Venice.
It was a whole new world to imagine, what life could be like in Europe…
…as a someone who at the time was living in a small “fishing” village in Canada.
I knew I had to go see it for myself, and while I’ve traveled to many, many other places first, it never left my mind, this desire to experience Amalfi.
But there’s one spot over the years I began wanting to see even more than Amalfi for a crucial reason, and it’s the town next door…
Atrani is the lesser known charming village located beside the town of Amalfi Coast, just a few minutes’ drive or a short walk along the coast. It’s the smallest municipality in Italy by land area but despite its tiny size, compensates with its immense beauty, unique character and (most notable for myself) was the central location in the Netflix short series adaption of the book by Patricia Highsmith: RIPLEY
Without further ado, this is the full POV walking tour and experience of being in Amalfi and Atrani, the beach, the walking (lots of it), the food, the movie culture and the magic. Please enjoy and thank you for all of your comments, likes and shares – it’s appreciated. I love creating this content for you all.

LOL! It was adorable to see your reactions, after drinking the Limoncello Spritzer and sitting at The Equalizer table! 🤣 I love your child like exuberance and sense of wonder! Your drone footage was fantastic! Breathtaking part of Italy, but too touristy for me. Lovely hotel; loved the serenity of the neighborhood at night. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us all! Keep having fun!👍🏻

At minute 15 is the Neapolitan nativity scene.
Why do locals in Italy hate us Americans so much?
A beautiful place, best time to visit is early spring and autumn when the crowds are not nearly as bad.
Ma come tieni in mano le posate? Te lo hanno insegnato nelle caverne?
Thanks for visiting. 🥂
Emerging in the midst of enormous green surroundings is quite beautiful.
Just down the road is Positano, another picture postcard, up the hill is a view to die for in Ravello, just over the hill is the wonderful Sorrento. All via very cheap, easy access using the local busses. Hop on, hop off.
Just wow! I make thumbnails for travel creators – happy to design you one for free. Can you drop me an email address to send samples?
I love your videos but could you please pan a bit more slowly? It makes me dizzy to watch!
Yet another winner, Meghan and Shane.
Thank you. Rab 🥃😎
