Dining at Aruffo’s Italian Cuisine | Claremont, CA Food Review
I recently had the chance to try Aruffo’s Italian Cuisine for the first time, located in the heart of Claremont Village, California—and wow, it did not disappoint.
This charming Italian spot has been around since 1985 and is known for serving up some of the best authentic Italian food in SoCal. Everything is made with farm-to-table ingredients, and you can seriously taste the freshness in every bite.
The vibe? Think cozy, romantic, and full of old-world charm. It felt like I was dining somewhere in Italy—and the service was just as impressive: friendly, fast, and super welcoming. Even on a Saturday night, I waited less than 2 minutes to be seated!
Here’s what I ordered:
Appetizer: Calamari Fritti – lightly seasoned in a lemon butter garlic sauce. Fresh, crispy, and not greasy at all.
Drink: Chocolate Espresso Martini – tasty, but a bit thick for a pasta night. Note to self: stick with wine next time.
Complimentary Bread: Warm, crusty, and possibly the best sourdough I’ve ever had. Paired perfectly with the salmon bisque soup that came with my entrée.
Main Course: Aragosta E Gamberi Forno – wild lobster, shrimp, and penne pasta baked in a rich brandy cream sauce with fontina, provolone, and pecorino. Absolutely bursting with flavor—balanced and super satisfying.
If you’re in or near Claremont, you have to check out Aruffo’s. I’m already planning my next visit.
