  1. Great video, John! Can’t get enough of value buys in the wine world. Picked up Lillian Ladouys 2020 last week for under $30!
Also, you need to do more blind taste offs from two different price points! Those are always enjoyable, especially when the lesser priced wine wins! 😎🍷

  2. talking about rioja, I usually stock up on marques de riscal reserva and the cune rioja. both are very similar, especially the 2019 vintage. not bad at all.

  3. La Montesa is such a steal for the quality—definitely one of my go-to house wines here in Bali. I'm also a big fan of Giant Steps!
Regarding Domaine Régis Bouvier, I’ve only been able to find Domaine René Bouvier in Europe. From what I gather, they might be related—possibly brothers? Do you happen to know more about that? Are the wines from the same estate or stylistically similar? I’d love to get my hands on that Marsannay if they’re connected.

  4. Your $20-$50 wine recommendations are always appreciated, John, but especially now, when financial mindfulness is top of mind for many. Thank you for helping wine enthusiasts everywhere drink well and wisely.

  5. Yet another superb video; bravo, John! I especially enjoyed seeing you with pruning shears in hand assisting with the harvest in Langhe. Hope you got a case discount for the effort, at a minimum.

Really appreciated the shout out for K Vintners and their outstanding syrahs. A personal favorite. Good to see the "MCS" bottling at an affordable price point.

Finally, thanks for the insight into Giant Steps. As a Coltrane fan myself, I wish pinot noir and chardonnay were wines I could enjoy. Unfortunately, nothing short of La Tâche really rings my bell. Dom Perignon tastes, Boones Farm budget. 😢

  6. Damn I was hoping Clare J.C wouldn't be hyped until I bought some this vintage 😉 GREAT summer wine tried it last year out in a cabin in the forest after some woodchopping work, sweaty and tired in the evening sun, perfect combo!

  7. great value in these type of videos. As a collector its kind of unfathomable to know that theirs a super tuscan for 20$ when i pay on average 80 to 250 for most of them. im going to try to acquire all of these recommendations from you except the syrah .

  8. Castello Romitorio is a syrah and petit verdot. A unique blend coming from tuscany. Unheard of not to have cab or sangiovese….excited to try !
