Traveling to Tuscany Italy for 3 weeks and of course we had to visit some wineries! We rented a car which was the very best thing to do because we get to make our all own time schedules.
The “Experiences” we chose were all part of AIRBNB Experience. We have used these experiences throughout our travels within the US and in many other countries.
The 3 Wineries we chose were all extremely different! Verrazzano comes first which was a very large Villa/Castle style home. Located in the Chianti Region, north of Siena. Lunch with wine pairings was wonderfully good!
Our second vineyard was a small family owned winery! Simone Family….San Giorgio a Lapi. This was probably our favorite. They do everything on site and quite a bit still by hand. It was located out in the countryside away from other villa’s and vineyards. It was a superb day and the wine was delightful! We would visit here again!
The third winery we visited was located in Montepulciano under the village. The winery was named Di Ricci. So, cool how their wine is kept in barrels in the caves below the city streets. Some of the caves were even located outside the city walls. The Etruscans lived in these caves around 500 BC. Fascinating!
Another great fact about these caves was how the air floated through so freely due to high ceilings and holes placed in specific areas. This helped with keeping the barrels at a constant temperature. Perfect setting for aging wine!
Enjoy our sweet time learning about how wine is made in Italy and the photos of the beautiful scenery and maybe a little of our antics! 🙂
I love to do these videos because they take me back in time to where we travel and I LOVE TO TRAVEL!!!
HAPPY TRAILS TO ALL OF YOU WHO FIND US AND WATCH!
