Welcome to Varzi, Oltrepò Pavese: once upon a time its porticoes provided shelter for merchants and the trade caravans of those travelling along the Salt Route. Now what’s left is a highly sought after and very well known route for excursions and trekking. There are many reason to discover Varzi: its beautiful castle and the Malaspina Castle, the local tradition of playing accordion and the typical products to taste (the great salami of Varzi and local wines: Pinot Nero, Riesling, Barbera and Bonarda).
