Lasagna is my go to meal when it’s time for the ultimate comfort food! What could be better than layers of noodles, meat sauce and cheese? Listen to some classic Frank Sinatra, grab a glass of your favorite wine and gather your Family and Friends for Sunday dinner…Italian-Style! I used a ready-made premium Marinara Sauce, ( Dell’ Amore Marinara ) which saved time and added another level of flavor to the recipe. I stress “premium”…always check out ingredients. I choose Dell Amore because it’s a clean sauce with high quality ingredients, no sugar added, no preservatives, etc….This sauce was recommended to me by a renowned Chef, and I must say…it’s good enough to use as a stand alone sauce.( Check out their sauces: dellamore.com). My meat sauce was made using sirloin since it cuts out the “draining” process of excess fat without sacrificing flavor.The ricotta cheese is a whole milk high quality cheese, as is the mozzarella. The grated cheese of choice is Parmesan Reggiano or Locatelli Pecorino Romano, or a combination of both. Choose your favorite lasagna noodles, and be sure to par-cook for about 5 minutes, no more. If there are left overs, freeze pieces individually and well wrapped for single servings. Extra sauce can also be frozen. Enjoy, and be sure to give your feedback! Mangia!
