I heard it was like 2 billion bottles a year. The glass is more valuable than the wine. We've got 100 plus years of bottle production buried all over Europe and the United States. Very little was ever recycled. That's a tremendous amount of energy used to make that much glass. Special green tinted glass is more valuable as other products, building materials in the middle east. They don't sell much wine in the dry middle east. They would buy glass blocks with their oil money. They would buy agricultural food and paper products, but they don't buy wine.
They would buy raisins and raisin breads and all types of raisin products. 200% tariff should tear it.
All that wine is a waste really, it's an expensive net loss waste of farmland and glass and energy. Way too much money has been invested in alcohol in this world in my opinion.

I think a tariff on bad things like alcoholic beverages is a good step by the US. It will also prevent users from drinking alcohol.
