ABOUT:

Hi! I’m Valeria — a writer, content creator, and the visionary behind Dramatically Expatic. With a background in TV, where I hosted my own program (think a bit more formal than my current YouTube adventures), I now thrive on the dynamic and creative freedom of the web. As an expat in Italy for eight years and counting, I hold a BA in Theatre and Film Studies and an MSc in Media Organisation from the University of Bologna. I have always had a huge passion for discovering new places, having traveled all around the world since I was a child, so there were no second thoughts when searching for my niche. Here I share my best advice on visiting Italy, budget travel tips to Italy, and all things living in Italy entails!

  1. 2 years ago when I arrived to Verona I was able to find a very decent apartment for 800 euros/month. Today I have some friends trying to find where to live and they cannot find anything decent bellow 1100

  2. What an eye-opener, thank you. Maybe I'll just stay in London since life seems even more expensive in Italy, and in London we have free museums, food banks that are currently helping me, free travel for people who are ill or pension age and more small houses with private gardens. I grew up in Italy in flats, I hate living in flats, they're like prison cells to me. Thank you

  3. I went vegan to get healthy and slim and save money. I eat wholefoods: fruit, veggies, mushrooms, legumes and wholegrains and learnt to cook simple delicious quick meals from scratch like my nonna used to do! I never waste money on expensive coffees, I carry a thermos flask with hot water and a herbal teabag, keeps you slim too and does not affect your sleep. I don't overbuy clothes, I dress simply, take care of my clothes and shoes and feel good!

  4. I was thinking about living in Italy or France, but you’ve made up my mind to move to France.

  5. wtf – how much do i need all in for living in pisa for instance? At warsaw it takes about 1400 EUR for decent living without savings. Any info please?>

  6. When l search for min wage in Italy, Google shows that 1150 EUR, median salary is about 2500 EUR.. I don't think that a single person who lives under those circumstances survives easily.

  7. I was hoping l could finance my home by selling my soul but jt seems that my job crushed that particular of me years ago so l have to rent instead.

  8. Hi. Thanks for this info. What about the cost for health insurance, or health service in public hospitals?
