When I saw people use a spoon to twirl their spaghetti, I was confused as hell. Then I reasoned that it was like training wheels on a bike. They can't figure out how to twirl without the spoon.
Whether you spin in the bowl or spoon, just clean it up with your bread. All good Italians consider it the 4th utensil.
There’s a plate below the pasta you can do the same with . Careful though if you do it too aggressively it’ll squeak
I was taught by my Grandmother Angelina that you take a few strands of long pasta. Move it to the side of the plate and twirl until it’s a nice mouthful. Spoons are for soup.
There is my $0.02 worth, I also hang toilet paper so it is over the roll, not under! 😊. Another discussion for another day…
